I think Canon should put more effort and deal with more brain and optimize firmware for 1D series instead of pursuing one who could actualy make better software.
They think that we, users are idiots.  >:(
I am very disappointed with the fact that I payed for 6.000,00 $ camera that has a "less power" in video quality than 5 year old 50d that cost 350$ and with ML hack becomes raw video monster.
I feel like spaceball... quote: "Wait, what happened, where are they??? I don't know sir, they must have hiper jets out there! And what do we have on this thing??? Cuisinart ??? No sir... (we have 1Dx)  ;D Well, find them, catch them...  end of quote.
So Canon, what do you say? What do we have in here? How will we catch 50D, or 5DMarkII, or 5DMarkIII... they must have raw video, and what do we have ???
I suppose that we 1Dx owners are 6.000,00$ succers !!!  :o
Good job Canon... nicely done...

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: 1DX and 5D3 RAW files
« on: May 20, 2013, 08:54:09 PM »
Well... 22,3 Mp vs 18,1 Mp = 4,2 Mp means much larger amount of light data in less resolution for 1Dx - less noise, better DR... that's for stills, video quality  is now far better in 5dMarkIII after new Magic Lantern firmware, so 3.000,00 $ more = means weaker video quality than 5DMarkIII... ooooh joy  ::)
Why... oooo.... why ML doesn't make firmware for rest of us Canon users?
C'mon ML, give it a try... what a video quality would that be for 1Dx  :)

EOS Bodies / Re: 5D Mark III with Continuous RAW Video Recording
« on: May 13, 2013, 10:00:24 AM »
This is all beautiful, and I'm very happy for 5DMarkIII owners, but... what about Canon 1Dx ???
Double with price, and still with no Canon or ML firmware to some major upgrade in video for our expensive camera!?
Now, 5DMarkIII will have better video capabilities, better picture in video, raw video recording... and 1Dx - NO !
Great, just great... that's why 1Dx cost more than 2 x 5DMarkIII so we could have less quality for double the price.
Wonderful... beautiful... great...    ::)

Hello everyone,

Few days ago I was at birthday party of my sister-in-law.
I wanted to make few memory shots for her, just for fun, and instead of just few, I made this video of combination of bunch of pictures and video clips.
Everything was filmed entirely with Canon 1Dx.
Music by A-trak (Heads will roll) and W&W (Lift off! - radio edition)
Pay attention at the end of video... it's not over till it's over!
Watch in HD!
I hope you liked it... ;)

Thanks RGF  :)
I shoot only raw with Canon 1Dx (12fps) combined with only 2 lenses that I have at the moment (16-35 f2.8 & 70-200 f2.8).
About the camera settings... well, most of my shots were on fixed ISO 3200, but that also depends on light situation that was changing constantly during the show, so it's a bit hard to give exact receipt for right in-camera settings.
I was changing from f2.8 - f4.0 on both lenses, shutter speed was  at approx. 1/200-1/250 for clear shots, and 1/80-1/125 for blurred motion effect, depending on the speed and movement of dancers.
For slide show muic background I included music from Marcus Füreder - Parov Stelar, austrian musician, producer, DJ...
Name of the song is Catgroove.
I'm glad you liked it  ;)

Uh...  :o thanks... so many complimets and nice words, but...
I am only amateur with very good camera.
I am like in a 1st grade of elementary school in photography.
I calculated something... if I continue to learn about photography, and shoot on a daily basis, than, perhaps, I could finish photo-elementary school before I die  ;D ... and than high school, and college in my next life  8)
I have to find save option somewhere in my soul, so I could continue my learning about photography in afterlife  ;)
Seriously, this was my second shooting of dance in my life, and there is much more room for improvement.
But, I'm not in a rush... I have a lifetime to improve myself.

... and, YES, please buy Canon 1Dx... it is completely different story, when you lay your hands on this beauty, you will forget everything you thought you knew about this "sport"  :)

Thank you for you positive comment rpt.
I shoot only raw, so... 12fps is quite enough, anything more than that will look more like video, and less like photo slide show.  ;)

Dylan777... yes... 1Dx is a king of the dark!  8)
Speed, low light and shadows are it's strenght,  allowing me to be much more creative.
The only limit is my imagination.

Now, I just have to imagine much, much more  ;D

Thanks Click, Quasimodo, Eli  :)
First I had to correct all 800 pictures in Lightroom and Photoshop, and than I "connected" them in Proshow Producer 5. Magnificent and very user friendly program, and it's not to expensive. Ideal for simple editing of pictures and video.
Thanks again for your comments  ;)
