Great! Now I'm worried.

My 5D iii has these bars bars also. Your camera is fine.

The 1D X and 5D III both have headphone jacks for audio monitoring, the 5D II and 7D do not.

Makes you wonder if the 1D X has the same problem!

Sandisk Extreme Pro.

I got a 32 GB, CF for my 5DIII and it works great.

Make sure you get your card from a Sandisk dealer, tons of fakes out there.

I just got a delivery date from Amazon for the kit.

"Canon EOS 5D Mark III 22.3 MP Full Frame CMOS Digital SLR Camera with EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens"
Estimated arrival date: April 03, 2012

Kinda disappointed - plus that's with next day delivery as well.

I just got the same email with the same date of April 3rd, 2012. I preordered mine last Saturday the 10th. When did you pre-order yours?

I'm kinda in the same boat as you, I have a 50D, 10-22, 17-55, 28-135 (50D kit lens), and 70-200, and I want to make the jump to FF with a 5DIII.

I thought about the same thing... using the 17-55 on the 50D and 70-200 on the 5DIII would be a cool dual-camera setup. But I also think that once I get used to the 5D autofocus and handling my 50D is just going to become an expensive paperweight. Thats where my boat is different from your boat. If my 50D was a 7D, I would be on the fence just like you. LOL.

If I got the 5DIII body only and wanted to use a lower focal length I would have to use the 28-135 kit lens that came with my 50D until I could afford to get a better lens. I have read many people say the 24-105 is a great walk-around lens for a FF camera, so I thought it was a no brainer to drop the extra $800 and get a brand new 24-105 at the same time.

1. A 5D3 at $3500, 28+ MP would change my mind.
2. A 5D3 with 22MP at $2999 would change my mind.
3. A 5D3 at $3500 and a D800 at $3500+ would change my mind.

Don't get me wrong I still have plans to get a 5D3. At $3500 I'm sure they will still be hard to find for the rest of the year! Funny thing is has anyone considered that Nikon under valued the D800? I mean they could price that thing at $3500 - $3700 and it would still sell.

Lenses / Re: Upgrade Suggestions

If you dont want to upgrade to a FF camera in the near future, I would add an EF-s 17-55 f/2.8 IS. This lens is an awesome addition to any crop sensor camera.

I agree with Axilrod, get a EF-s 17-55 2.8 IS, this lens can make a crop sensor camera sing. Not only is it a great walk around lens, its also a very good indoor lens. Some of the older versions of this lens have issues with dust getting inside the lens, just a warning if you buy one used.

I would also get a 580 or 430 flash, I hate the pop-up flash, but maybe thats just me.

I ordered mine yesterday... It gets here on Monday. I was thinking the same thing... should I wait for a better price closer to x-mas. Then I thought that the price coundn't drop much more, maybe another 25 bucks. Also the current thanksgiving rebates go away on the 28th, so maybe the price will go back up thru x-mas. Just buy the lens, the pics that you will get to take with it will be worth any extra money you will save by waiting.
