EOS Bodies / Re: Canon 7D Mark II - DXOMark Review

What I can't seem to figure out is how they can have a testing methodology for sensors (i.e. essentially image quality) that is not compatible with certain types of sensors (i.e. fuji).... it really makes me wonder.  On the face of it...what exactly are they testing for if not output?  If your algorithm for sharpness, DR, or color depth or whatever can't handle a different sensor filter pattern wouldn't you need to acknowledge that the methodology if flawed and very well could be skewed for other reasons?  I.E. canon may be doing something a little "different" in terms of tech/RGB pattern/etc. and their methodology doesn't either A) know and/or B) account for it.

So as a possible example...the dual pixel thing, couldn't that potentially muck up their methodology even though visibly there is no difference?

And I envy what you can get out the Nikon/Sony gear in terms of DR that's apparent to me who doesn't test anything...  I know my Canon gear has a ways to go to catch up...but...that's what doesn't make sense to me

FYI if anyone is still tracking this.  I e-mailed B&H last week about the fine print questions and received the following response and subsequently ordered:

Hello Terry, my name is Kirk R:

Thank you for contacting the E-Mail Sales Department at B&H Photo Video and Pro Audio.

Canon has informed us that any kit purchased from B&H would be eligible for the rebate. The items would be listed separately on the invoice. Since the other rebate has already expired, it would have any effect on the current offer.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

Thank you, we appreciate your business.

Wow, this looks to be a very interesting deal...w/the 5D Mark III.  This is a camera I'd interested in getting to use as my primary and my current 5D Mark II as the secondary.  As I've never purchased camera gears w/rebates, does anyone know what kind/type of rebate is this in the form of (Amex gift card?).  Also, anyone currently using the Pro-100?  What are your thoughts on this printer?  Also do you use the printer for other jobs aside from photos?

I'm using a Pro 100 and so far the results in my opinion have been incredible.  I did some tests against prints from Millers and think it is darn close and better some situations.   It also is super nice to be able to knock a great print out when you come home with something you are super happy delay!!!  Seeing how good the pro 100 I'm stocked to eventually get my hands on a pro 1 or pro 10 at some point...they have to be great!

As to the other comment about a long rebate wait...I've done two with canon and had my rebate cards within 3-4 weeks both times.

Might bite on this....looks good!
