Hey,
Recently I have been shooting long exposure photos with my 7D and I've noticed that even at ISO 100 my photos are becoming really grainy after the sensor is exposed for only a few seconds. I have also noticed that at 30 sec + exposures I have red and white dots ( i thing they are hot pixels ) showing up in my pics and if the exposure is going for 30 minutes + You can barely make out the photo because the entire image is covered in red and white spots.
If someone has had a similar issue or know what could be the problem help would be much appreciated.

I used to own the 100mm macro L and used it on the 7d. Works really well. Sharp, quick focusing and all the benefits of a crop body. Go for it.

Any three of the big L's. 400mm, 500mm, 600mm.
Either a 17mm Tilt shift or a 24mm tilt shift.
Either a 14mm L or 8-16mm fisheye....

Canon 24-70 2.8 L
Canon 50mm 1.8
Canon 70-200mm 2.8 IS II L
Canon 300mm 4 L
Use these with a 7d- 1.6 crop and 1d mk iin- 1.3 crop.
Been into photography for 5 years. Make sure you back up everything up.

Canon 24-70 L - General Purpose lens.
Canon 50mm 1.8 - Piece of plastic.
Canon 70-200mm L 2.8 is ii - Long shots.
Canon 300mm f/4 is- When the 70-200 isn't long enough.
