+1 more for 5d classic.   Can be found for similar prices as t3i, and some might say ( me being one) that it's even an upgrade in many ways.  Built as strong, or maybe a bit better than the 60d,, but doesn't feel, "as new" you can tell it's an older model, but after taking pictures on it, you soon forget all that.  Plus, full frame gives you more focal length options teamed  with a crop.  Assuming you have some EF lenses.

If you don't notice a difference between t4i and 5dii then it's unlikely you would notice the 6d or 5diii difference either. 5dii is a very nice camera, i love mine. It's on par with 6d and 5diii.  For your stated uses, it is a very capable device.  Keep and and use it, and like mentioned above, you have time to change your mind, but you won't gain as much going to 6d or 5diii, as you did by going full frame in the first place.

I had a card reader that was doing something similar. One way to tell is by disconnecting and then trying again, if the pictures are still messed up, but in different ways or patterns, then its the card reader, if every picture is the exact same every time, then its the card. I almost trashed a bunch of cards before i thought to try a different reader.

I've never returned any of my lenses for a new copy. I rarely even test them to the degree that many seem to. I take a bunch of test shots before buying, but that's pretty much it.  I have the first versions of the 24-70 2.8, 70-200 2.8, and have owned at one point several other L lenses,  and honestly, I know I didn't have a "bad" copy, but I couldn't tell you if it was good, or just average or whatever.  I've never noticed a problem and either has anyone else. Maybe I'm lucky, idk.

One of the differences mentioned was a heat sink in the 1dc, so even if ml or someone figured out a way to do 4k video on the 1dx, might it just overheat?

What 'shade'? As in what shade to ask for at a welding supply shop, those guys don't speak in stops. Arc welding glass is available in a range from 6 through 13 (maybe more), the 'shade' is selected according to the amperage used while welding.
Oxy/acetylene glass is typically shade 3 or 5, 3 being similar to sunglasses, 5 similar to pretty dark sunglasses.

The one i use is shade 10. Picked it up from home depot.  I attached it to a broken filter to use on my lens. Its mostly only good for black and white images because of the extreme green tint it gives everything, but ive heard of people being able to color correct for it.

The 10-22 from canon is considered very good, or the sigma version. It's not "L" but for landscapes, comparable quality.

I just got the vello battery grip for the 5d mkii and so far no problems. have not had to remove the grip for any reason.

things i did notice... the battery door can move slightly. doesn't cause a problem, just wiggles a very small bit.
also the grip doesn't fit "PERFECTLY" but again, doesn't cause a problem. moves just very slightly.  I dont think the grip will last as long as the canon version, but it works and feels solid enough.

Having a mentor that can share experiences is the one of the best way to learn other than learning directly from experience.  It's just the same when you go to school.  You might have been taught the same subject and same amount of theories as that with other students but it doesn't mean that what you learn is on par with what others learn.  It always depends on the person on how fast can he assimilate the knowledge and put them to use in the real world.  That said, you'd still be better off learning from a guru.  Of course any avenues of learning is always welcome.

One more thing, please learn more on the art of real photography.  Sometimes, we tend to be pixel-peepers/tech-heads.  There's nothing wrong with that except that if we do that, we are forgetting the real essence of why we are taking pictures. 

I didn't say it, but that's exactly what I meant. I don't want to go to school to learn just about sensors and autofocus, the internet is already full of that.   But I love to learn about photography in general. But I consider ita expense just like anything else, and I'm trying to determine the value of it. That's why I picked to questions I asked.  If money was of no concern, I would already be there.

A few photography school related questions.

for those who went to school, do you feel like you learned a great amount, or was it more of a business decision to have a diploma.

And from 1 to 10, where would you say you were at before and then after 1 = not knowing you can take off the lens on a slr.  10 = Neuroanatomist

And lastly, could you have learned the same from the internet and experienced friends?

Edit- I do consider photography a form of art and when I said learn, I meant more than just the tech aspect.
