Lenses / How to clean lenses ?
« on: August 22, 2013, 03:17:47 PM »
When I bought my 600D/T3i camera with 18-55mm lens, the seller used alcohol wipe and glasses microfiber cleaning cloth to clean both the LCD screen and camera lens. Is that safe ? Or should he have used something else ? Also, I didn't clean my lenses ever since I bought my camera, how often should I clean it and with what ?

I have an 18-55mm lens and am getting 50mm 1.8 lens. I am planing on buying filters but I don't know which filter size should I get. How do I know which filter size will fit my lenses ?

Lenses / Lenses questions
« on: August 17, 2013, 05:46:33 AM »
Hey everyone. This is my third thread in this forum. I have a few questions about lenses and hope I get answers.

1- mm stands for millimeter right ?

2- How do you know which lens is better in zooming and auto focus ?

3- Why is cheaper than that one is 50mm and the other is 40mm

4- What does EF stand for ? example: Canon EF 100mm

5- What does FD and EF mount stand for ?

Thank you.

Lenses / Which lenses to buy for filming
« on: August 14, 2013, 03:06:09 AM »
Hey everyone. This is my second thread in this amazing forum. I am a newbie to the world of films and I just bought me a Canon 600D/T3i camera which came with 18-55mm lens which are pretty blind for filming. I asked people around here and they suggested to buy Tiffen 77mm Variable ND-Filter is this it ?

Plus, what lenses do you guys recommend me to buy. My budget for the lenses is 100-150 USD. I will also buy an external microphone.

EDIT: My budget is 350 USD.

« on: August 10, 2013, 06:22:08 AM »
Hello everyone. This is my first post here. I am a 22 year old student at a college majoring in electronics and communications. Soon as am done with college am moving to a film school to learn about filmmaking. However, right now am educating myself with filmography and video shots by reading books. The only thing left for me is buying a camera. Which camera do you guys recommend me buy for a first timer ? Same thing with accessories. My budget is 1500
