Software & Accessories / Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga for RAW editing
« on: March 09, 2014, 06:38:00 AM »
Hi all,

Does anyone of you have experiences with the Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga? I need a Laptop/ Ultrabook for traveling and university that runs Lightroom 5. The hardware looks good but I'm a bit worried about the display for RAW editing.
What's your opinion?

Thank you

Software & Accessories / Raw processing on iPad/tablet
« on: October 25, 2013, 05:23:58 AM »
Hey there!

Has anyone here tried processing his Raw-photos on a tablet/iPad? There are programs like "Photo Mate Professional", "Raw Vision" and even Adobe Photoshop "Express". Displays and processors are getting faster and better every year, but the problem I see is the limited usability of CF-cards and usb-flash drives especially on the iPad.

I looking for a small processing device for travel and am currently leaning towards an 11" MacBook Air or 13" Retina. On my desk I use a late 2012 21" iMac.

Please share your tips and experiences :)

Lenses / 70-200 2.8 II vs. 85mm 1.2 II - general opinion
« on: July 26, 2012, 04:24:24 PM »
Hello all,

I want to buy one of these two lenses within the next weeks. Having read all the articels about IQ, autofocus, weight, I don't need any advice like "my lens is sharper" or "the 85mm has a lot more/pleasing bokeh".
These are questions to those who own both lenses: Which one is you favourite for portraits and why? Do you prefer the 85 or the 70-200 when it comes to low light shooting (e.g. portraits in the woods at late afternoon)? What else do you use the two for and which one do you use more often? What makes one of the two lenses more remarkable than the other?

I currently own a 7D with the 15-85, 100L and 70-200 4.0 non IS. I usually use the 100L because of the background blur but find it slightly to long for my purpose. My 70-200 has the obvious zoom range advantage.

Canon seems to have announced a new version of this lens today. I haven't found it in the forum yet so simply wanted to inform you guys about it.
