EOS Bodies - For Stills / Using 1DX in very low temperatures

Dear all, I will be visiting Moscow next week, and temperatures are extremely low (around -10 to -15 degrees C or 14 to 5 degrees F).  I am wondering whether I should get my 1D X with me. Is there a chance to cause some damage to the camera or lenses? Thank you..

Although DPP is rendering RAW files very nicely, it has limited functionality and not ideal for handling large number of files. Its also extremely slow on MACs (due to a known problem managing folders with over roughly 400 images). I am seriously contemplating the possibility of switching to Lightroom 4.1. After first trials, it looks that RAW files are rendered in a different manner than DPP. I have tried  changing some of the adjustment parameters, but I have not managed to make them look similar yet. Do you know of any reliable Canon presets I can use to make them looking similar?

Software & Accessories / DPP for MAC too slow?

I am trying to use DPP on my new iMAC (i7 3.4GHz, 16GB RAM, 256 SSD, 2 TB hard disk, 2GB graphic card). Unfortunately, every time I access the folder view + thumbnails its taking a while to refresh the screen, and if I exit a photo edit window it takes even longer to come back. On the same iMac I am also using Windows Parallels, and I installed DPP for PC for comparison. Everything runs very fast.
Is it a problem with my settings (I use DPP high quality view option on both systems) or the DPP for MAC is not well written? Thank you all.

Hello everybody, I have taken my new 1D X for a ride, starting from Parthenon... Very impressed so far, with AF speed, dynamic range, ergonomics. I will keep enjoying it in more demanding applications...

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Is this a good time to buy 1D X?

Hi guys, I have the option to buy tomorrow the 1D X, serial number starting with 05.... I am not a professional, just a very enthusiastic amateur (I currently own the 5D II, plus 6 zoom and prime lenses).  I have read about the err80 issue, and another one with the servo focusing over 10 fps. Do you think that both of these problems are firmware related, or hardware? I live in Greece, and it's probably impossible to have exchanged if is found faulty. Theoretically, I can wait to buy a bit later, but of course it's very difficult to wait... What would you advise? Warm thanks.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Help with 1D X serial number

I have just received a call by my dealer, and informed me that he has just received his first 1D X (I am based in Europe) and my name is the first on his list! I am super excited about it, but before i get it tomorrow I would like to double check that it is one of the most recently produced bodies. I have the 12 digit serial number. Can I draw a conclusion by this? Warm thanks for your help!
