EOS Bodies / 7D mark II 3rd party book
« on: September 07, 2014, 01:02:20 AM »

Came across this link buried 2 or 3 layers down at Canon Watch. Suggests it will be called a 7D Mark II and will have GPS

Looking for advice on camera settings for taking pictures from a moving river ship.  Taking a River Cruise from Amsterdam to Basel along the Rhine. Traveling during the day, golden hours and at night.... Will have 5D3 plus  16-35L, 24-105L and 70-300L.  I have other lenses if folks recommend better lens combinations.  I have tried before with a T4i and Tamron 18-270 and then with a 5D2 + Tamron 28-300.....without any impressive keepers. Hope to do better this time. (I decided to take Tamron lenses for weight/size considerations ... But will NOT wimp out this time).  Thanks in advanced.

Looking for a manufacturer of a camera case for a rebel size body with a batery grip and moderate size lens. Does anyone know of any links to such a vendor????

« on: July 02, 2012, 03:58:01 PM »
Before I spend a fair amount of time creating my own “Starting exposure reference sheet”, I was wondering if anyone knew where there might be one available for down loading and editing. What I was looking for was a sheet like this:

Starting Exposure Recommendations:

Scene      ISO   f/   Tv   Mode      Comment

Car Trails      100   10   10s   M                Do this is background to light:
Do this is trails to light:

Beach                 M      exposure for open sky

Waterfall            Etc.
(Freeze action)

Fast moving Sports

Thanks…. Chuck

Technical Support / EF-S lens & Mirror Lock-up Questions
« on: July 02, 2012, 02:00:58 PM »
Two quick questions:

1)   If you buy a EF-S lens… say the EF-S 15-85 lens;  Does the 15-85 mm focal length designation refer to a full frame sensor (so I would really have a wide angle lens of 24-136mm)  or to a cropped sensor thereby having a true 15-85mm lens?
2)   If you use Live View, then your mirror is “in the UP position”.  Then if you take a photo while in Live View… is this equivalent to taking that same picture with the “Mirror Lock-up” option enabled?
