Canon EF Prime Lenses / Re: Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM

Honey-supply is secured!

I waited for such a lens for a very long time.

But a this price I rather take the Canon 10-22. AF + Zoom at lower price and same weight and size.

If it comes down to about 350€ I might get one.

Lenses / Re: sorry i have to ask....

You seem to forget that it wasn't Canon, who said "2014 will be the year of the lens". CR guy said it *could* become a good year for lens announcements based on his rumor-sources....

But seriously, there are a few lenses I would like to see, although I might never own them (12/14-24 2.8, 35 II, TS-Es, 50 1.?). Just sit back, enjoy what's comming and what's not and keep clicking.

Canon has over 70 lenses available. How many more do you need? :P

Seriously, it's past time for a 35L II.

Here you go ;):

This is just the cinema version of the current 35mm L, but nice try. ;)

I'd really hoped for the 16-50/4 IS ... :(

I will love to have a 16-50 f/4 IS too. But I don't think that's coming. It is probably a figment of someone's imagination. Sigh

How about this source of imagination:

Software & Accessories / Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga for RAW editing
« on: March 09, 2014, 06:38:00 AM »
Hi all,

Does anyone of you have experiences with the Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga? I need a Laptop/ Ultrabook for traveling and university that runs Lightroom 5. The hardware looks good but I'm a bit worried about the display for RAW editing.
What's your opinion?

Thank you

Lenses / Re: More Mentions of 2014 Being the Year of the Lens [CR1]

Give us more rumors!!!

Widest FF zoom lens: 12-24 L f/2.8 USM
Budget high quality lenses: 50 f/1.8 or 2.0 IS USM

I'd take both :)

EOS-M / Re: The Next EOS M in 2014 [CR2]
« on: November 11, 2013, 03:29:48 PM »
I thought earlier reports suggested that the new M would have a VF? Wonder if that is off the plate now?

I'm sure Canon has different models ready or in the plans. However, they think the consumer market is bigger than the prosumer market. So no EVF this time.

Sounds good! Hopefully the also announce some new lenses along with it.

Lenses / Re: Lots of New Lenses Coming in 2014 [CR2]
« on: November 10, 2013, 04:12:00 PM »
I expect the following lenses:

100-400 II
An UWA Lens
More primes like the 24/28/35 IS: a 50mm maybe a new 85 1.8.
35 1.4 II
Maybe new ts-e lenses

EOS Bodies / Re: Canon Teaser

Good to see the rumor-mill heat up again.

The body looks like a pro body.

Can anybody tell/ guess wich lens shines thru in the teaser? the front lens diameter compared to the total diameter of the lens does neither look like the 50L nor like the 50 1.4 - random guess: NEW 50mm :)

EOS Bodies / Re: EOS 7D Mark II Spec List Surfaces [CR1]

Good. Now release a 5D4 along with it with the same everything except sensor size, pixel density and frame rate.

I'll buy both together.

That camera is called EOS 1Dx.

AF system similar or the same as the 5D would mean it would cover the hole frame - simply awesome but I only believe it when I see that.

Pricewatch Deals / Re: Sigma 24-105 f/4 DG OS Gets its Price
« on: October 25, 2013, 10:19:33 AM »
Lots of trash talk going on here...

Sigma is facing a few problems with this lens, but so far I think they made the right decisions:

1) The EF 24-105's price is low, when purchased as a kit or as a used kit lens.
2) The EF 24-105's IQ is quite good.

Answers:

1) The street price of this lens will soon be low enough to challenge the Canon.
2) Well, we will see ;D

One thing to keep in mind:
Neither Sony nor Nikon offer lenses like this, so there might be a bigger market on the dark side.

Sigma 24-105 f/4 DG OS ready for preorder
The Sigma 24-105 f/4 DG is scheduled to ship on November 4, 2013 according to B&H Photo. The new Art series lens from Sigma will be priced at $899. This is significantly less than the Canon EF 24-105 f/4L IS when purchased new. Although, you can shop around for easy “white box” deals that bring the lens below the Sigma. However, if the Sigma performs better, then the small additional cost may be worth it.

OK...this is funny...4 posts back on the rumor homepage is the canon 24-105mm alert for $639... That is quite a bit cheaper...plus the Canon has IS. I am a little slow on the uptake sometimes...but the Sigma has no IS...correct?
I owned the Canon and it is a very decent Zoom lens ...especially at $639!...
I am A Sigma Fan...own the new 35mm....but I am wondering if this lens really best the IQ on the Canon "significantly" asit will have to to sell well, right?

The sigma has stabilization. They call it 'Optical Stabilizer' (OS) instead of 'Image Stabilizer' (IS).
