Here's one from the Uyuni desert in Bolivia. Kinda liked how it turned out in B/W.

5D MK III Sample Images / Re: 5D MK III Images

Hey,

I post here very rarely, but thought I'd share a recent shot of one of my favourite subjects. Location Kuusamo, Finland. Taken with the 5d mk 3 and the Tokina 11-16 wide angle which works fine at 16mm on full frame. Well the corners get soft, but I'm not a pixel peeping kinda person.

The Aurora season is starting strong, more on my fb- photoblog https://www.facebook.com/Julkoske :)

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: Canon 5D Mk3 Reliability
« on: May 23, 2013, 08:58:07 PM »
Had quite a few problems with mark III... the first one (just after 3 months of use) was the joystick button falling off. This was deemed a production flaw, but because my warranty is European and I live in South_America now I could not get it fixed which made me pretty furious. Apart from that on a recent trip to Yosemite I trusted its weather sealing and took photos in a little bit of rain. The camera died immediately and I could not get photos of an awesome thunderstorm hike near Half Dome (I wanted those long exposure lightning shots).

So I've had quite many problems, but what makes me nervous is Canons total disregard of my equipment when I'm not in their "warranty zone". I have had many doubts if I can continue working on Canon gear with these experiences. When I get back to Europe I will see if they'll make an exception in their warranty policies because I have already informed about the situation and that I'm coming back a bit after the warranty should be over. If or not I can get my camera fixed under warranty then will play a big role in my decision to continue with Canon.

Hey can anybody tell me if this is a sort of "first batch problem" or something? When I finally get it replaced (which is taking ages here in Chile) can I rely on the new part lasting longer? A big part of why I got the mark III in the first place was because I shoot in harsh conditions and needed weather sealing. Needless to say if the button keeps falling off it's not the camera for me.

Mine fell off as well. The thing is I am from Finland, but living a year in Chile in south america and my warranty is only effective in Europe. Now I have to wait a month for the replacement and pay 300 dollars for it altogether of which I am needless to say quite damn pissed about after just spending a whole lot of dough for my mark III...

I like this topic, some great images. Alien is always fascinating. I will go again with a second entry! (and thanks for 2lex for the bb- code tip, I was scratching my head over it) This is actually one still from a timelapse movie we made with my friend, which will be released in the future as a part of a bigger project. That's also why it's 16:9 aspect ratio, although I've started to like this aspect ratio overall :)

Hey first time here, long time reader. Wanted to post a pic to this particular thread from my Norway trip last spring.

At least the atmosphere being there was totally otherworldy :)
