Would you pay $3500 (or so) for a mini-1Dx in APS-C format?
Probably, if its got amazing low light performance and doesn't weigh as much as a 1DX...
... and if it can't meet those requirements, I'll just buy a 1DX and try to live with not having the extra reach of a 1.6 crop.

I had the previous 120-300 OS (the one launched in 2011) and is was quite possiby the worst lens I have ever used so I sold it after just 8 months. The image quality was awful and unusable with both 1.4 and 2X converters. I went back to sigma twice for a slipping focus ring during the time I owned it. I think sigma are charging too much for this new lens if its essentially the same lens with just user adjustability added.

I'm holding out til a more local shop to me gets some in as I think I'd rather collect it in person, plus it gives me time to save a bit more money for the gimble head and lenscoat too.
But if you're interested in cancelling the order you currently have I have been in contact with a few places that have them in stock.
Park cameras in west sussex have a few
Mifsuds in south Devon have 1
and Castle cameras in Bournemouth have some.
Warehouse express and Jessops dont have any and dont have a clue when they might get any.

Anyone know if another batch of 500 F/4 II's will be shipping anytime soon?
Here in the UK none of the major high street shops or large mail order companies have any in stock and none of them seem to have any idea of when they might get a delivery.
A few of the smaller independent shops seem to get the odd 1 or 2 delivered now and again but no real solid shipments.
