Lenses / Re: what lens's to bring to Hawaii?
« on: February 25, 2014, 10:04:53 AM »
went to Maui last August, and the 17-40 stays on most of the time for landscape. Shooting at the beach that wide is awesome, don't forget any filters.

Third Party Manufacturers / Re: Nikon D610 yes D600 minor upgrade!
« on: October 09, 2013, 10:12:47 AM »

• RGB color metering - The 1DX finally has it... Nikon has been doing this in all of their cameras since the late 1990s.
• Spot meter via selected AF point - Only in the 1D series... Nikon allows this in all of their bodies.

isn't it 7D is the first color metering? iFCL?

i agree with spot metering, even the lowest D3200 has it, but i just love my Canon EOS 3 film camera that can link AF points with spot metering.

PowerShot Cameras / Re: Help on a pocketable compact

if you want quality, skip the zs3, or skip any smaller sensor.

buy something that has RAW capability. S100 refurb for $200 sounds very good for the money, and don't forget the Fuji XF1, i believe the sensor is even bigger. and i have seen it for $299 in Canada

EOS Bodies / Re: Why you shouldn't be worried about DR

any technical reason why CPL add DR? I am aware of the benefit of CPL, i have a 77mm too. just not aware it can add DR, never did a comparison thou.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: 5D sensor problem?

I already re-update the firware, but the problem is still. Who knows what happened to my camera?

to the OP, is there a newer firware available for the 5Dc? I thought Canon never had an update?

PowerShot / Re: Canon PowerShot G16 Announced

how does the OVF compare?

Lenses / Re: canon 16-35ii or sigma 12-24 ii
« on: August 16, 2013, 09:57:43 AM »
i believe there is a version 2 of the sigma 12-24, make sure you are comparing the version two to the 16-35L

if they can complete the rest of the line up with 50mm F1.2 or 1.4 Art, 85mm F1.4 ART and 135 F1.8 with or without OS ART, that would be awesome, i would buy a couple for sure.

look like a dash cam to me with that wide angle.

^ i am waiting for a 135L alternative as well, hoping for something cheaper

Canon General / Re: Compact camera for travel/everyday use

i am personally waiting for the Fuji X30, rumor to have a 1" or bigger sensor.

hopefully, the size and price won't change much  ;D

EOS Bodies / Re: Comparing AF-tracking 7D, 60D and 70D
« on: June 28, 2013, 10:42:15 AM »
for tracking capabilities, Nikon actually do a better job. Their D7100 coverage is another bonus, as well as the 1.3x on top of the 1.5 crop.

just go buy one from best buy and if you dont like it, refund it  ;)

Lenses / Re: Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II Mentioned [CR1]
