IMO there will be no 1dx replacement until late 2016.

1Dxbrilliant work gary
That's very true Eldar ,i want to try more birds and landscapes something new i think i will start at the zoo hahabeautiful eldar,i really have to tour my own country lolIt often takes a foreigner to show how nice home is
Here´s one from the Stonehaven port on the east coast of Scotland, also with the 21mm Zeiss.
I have mostly been shooting birds and animals lately, interrupted by the occasional portrait and event. Wide angle landscape shooting turned out to be a lot more difficult than I remembered (I have tried becoming a photographer for only 40 years ... ).
Rodeo action yesterday with the 1dx and 70-200 and 300 2.8.Great series northstar
Full sun at high noon so the light was quite harsh and from straight above, but i did the best i could
beautiful eldar,i really have to tour my own country lolIn the interest of some hope of getting this thread back on track, I'll post a recent 1D X + 300 f/2.8 IS II + CPL shotVery good point and very good image, with a slightly unusual use of the 300/2.8. That kind of light is Not easy and the polarizer effect was brilliant. Good job!
Also, the full moon. The next Friday the 13th full moon we´ll have here is in 49 years!
This is from Stonehaven on the Scottish east coast, with Dunnottar castle in the background. Beautiful place. Shot with the Zeiss 21mm f2.8, 1/160s, f9.0, ISO100
When I returned from this trip, I handed in the 1DX to CPS for sensor cleaning. When I picked it up (later the same day!!), they had changed the whole mirror housing, due to wear and tear. I had previously done the recommended services, but still it happened. I only have about 20.000 exp on it, so it was a bit of a surprise. My serial number is 072012001217, so if you have one prior or around that number, it could be that you should have it checked.
Thank's MenaceOne of megan,take with the 70-200 f2.8 II
Stunning - love it!
Congrats Dylan your going to love itWhat got me really interested are HIGH-ISO, metering, and AF. Although 5D III is ok at 6400. If 1DX can give me decent 12000, then I'm ALL IN. mackguyver claimed his cut off point is 25000 - I do trust his words.
Everything else just bonus
The 1Dx is an excellent all round piece of gear, it's ability to pull good images at quite high ISO is also excellent, but be careful of believing all you read, the Camera is good, it's not Magic, noise in the dark areas will always be an issue as you raise the ISO, getting good Images isn't going to be an issue, getting good Images with controllable noise no matter the sensor, will be until that problem is engineered out, could be a long wait.
I can't see anyway you will not be Happy with the 1Dx, but it's transient, lasts until Canon bring out that next newer, shinier whatever.
Perfect opportunity here for our resident evil trolls to pop in with some DR dribble.
Your feedbacks are greatly appreciated eml58.
Quick update: went to local camera shop today(by myself this time) looking for a backpack to fit 24-70 II and 70-200 combo. Some how, my American Express got charged @ $6,000ish
Local camera shop has one left - display unit. My freshly brand new 1DX should arrive next tues or wed - with 3yrs Canon US warranty for less than $6200
