I too would like the option for two choices. I use my Olympus TG1 for watersports and bring it along whenever things are going to get bumpy. I reach for my 5D whenever 35mm won't do. But my x100s is with me about 75% of the time.

I preordered the day it was available from amazon. I'm anticipating this camera more than my 5DmkIII.

Well, I preordered an X100s instead of the possible 35LII. Still holding out hope a 14-24 will be announced today.

My question is whether the 14-24 will have any impact on the resale of the 16-35II. I'd gladly sell my 16-35, and inject about 3K of my own cash for the 14-24 and 35II.

The price is a lot easier to justify when you consider the $1300 you could spend on the 35L would account for nearly half  the RX1s' price. There may be a 1 stop difference in aperture, but I could live with that. I think I may have just talked myself into this camera sometime next year. If only it had a built-in EVF...

Second thought... No need for an EVF if it had a 100% coverage tunnel view finder. I don't need any info, just framing.

I don't care what it costs, get me on the list.

1. Canon EF 14mm f2.8
2. Canon EF 35mm f1.4
3. Canon EF 50mm f1.2
4. Canon EF 85mm f1.2 II
5. Canon EF 70-200mm f2.8L IS II

But if we can go with rumors, I'd take the 14-24 over #1. And any version +1 to what's on the list.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: How to price my gear?
« on: November 23, 2012, 05:18:36 PM »
I usually check Amazon and compare their listings to my opinion of my gear and then  (depending on if I think it's worth it) I'll usually list towards the low end to sell quicker. I sold my 50D body only for around 700 on Amazon about two weeks before the 5D3 was released and it had only been listed for a couple days.

Amazon currently has a few G1xes for around 540... I've been debating one of these, but if an EOS M comes out with an EVF.. hmmmm what to do...

EOS Bodies / Re: Canon EF Lens Speculation [CR1]

Here's hoping that ultra-wide is the 14-24, and that I don't have to sell both my 16-35II and a kidney to afford it. Any speculation on price? I'd not be the least bit surprised to see it at $2,499.

Here's me standin' on my hands.

Now...Canon need to release better 16-35 or 14-24 f2.8

I would do disgusting things for a 14-24 shaper than the 16-35.

F/1.8-2.8 sounds like a huge upgrade to me.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: 7D to 5D III upgrade..worth it?

I went from a 50D to a 5DIII and my lord... I know they're not all keepers, but compared to what I was getting out of the 50D they sure seem like it. It's a fantastic camera. People have mentioned losing the crop factor as a con, but with landscape shooting having the same glass get 1.6 more of the landscape, isn't that a pro?

Software & Accessories / Gura Gear Deal
« on: September 09, 2012, 03:39:53 PM »
I'm not sure invite sites are allowed in the forum, I know that the amazon links where you make money aren't, so if this isn't kosher please delete this or lock/ignore the thread.

With that out of the way.... There's this website, The Clymb, that has Gura Gear bags for sale for the next couple days. I don't know what street prices for these things are so I don't know if this is actually a good deal or not, But I know these bags are often recommended so I figured I'd pass it along. I think you have to register to see the deal so I included a screenshot of the prices so you don't have to waste your time in the event that it's not worth it, or you're not interested.
Anyway, I hope the deal doesn't suck, and here's the link to be invited.
