Lenses / Re: Do all of canons 50 mm lens suck?
« on: January 02, 2012, 05:46:00 PM »
Ive been thinking to buy the 8000$ 50mm cine lens if it works good for still photos too.

well others make money with the 50mm 1.2 and some just dream about more gear to improve their photography... it´s always the same.

we expect RAW on board with 10bit 444 recording for the price range 16,000$.
not silly marketing tricks..

we? as "we" in the royal we?   ::)

i care a S___ what other people want.

in short.. sold my PW flex system -> too many problems.
if you want to know more have a look at their support forum!

bought phottix odin -> perfect.

had a look at the "pixel king" but to be honest for 150 euro less these triggers offer much less then the phottix odin.
the display alone on the phottix is worth 100 euros for me.
much quicker to see the settings of your groups etc. ... odin is a much better trigger.

I expect mirrorless to dominate the next list ;)

it will not happen.

but they should change the name of the list when they inlcude PEN etc. into the list.

Lenses / Re: Why no fixed Super-Tele-Lenses for APS-C?

im with canon here... i see no sense in that.

I think different LR setups might behave differently. I have seen dialog font sizes adjust to the width of the initial popup in the past (I use a PC though).

i use LR since version 1 (also PC) and never noticed it.
but i noticed immediately that the nikon type is shifted.  ;)

imo it would make no sence to adjust fontsize in only one (a few) line of the menu. that would look like a mess.

Could you check how NIKON CORPORATION would appear in your LR? Make the dialog narrower, as well. does not change fontsize as i wrote.
when i make the dialog as narrow as it gets then all letters that do not fit are replaced with "..."

and it makes no difference in english:

So, no fake. Just LR dialog adjusting the font sizes.

sure would be possible.... but my LR is not adjusting the fontsize.
and it sure does not adjusting fontsize for only one line of the menu.

when you look at the LR dialog on nikon rumors you will see that the text "NIKON D800" does not line up with the "NIKON" text above it (it´s shifted about 2 PIXELS). that´s fake if you ask me... photoshoped.

with my cameras and LR 3.6 the text from make/model is lined up perfectly in LR.

i would bet 100 euros it is faked.

my LR:

i could be wrong.. sure... but i think im not.

oh no...

6 more lenses where people can ask if they should buy the old ones or wait for the new ones.

prepare yourself...

Lenses / Re: Buy a used 24-70 now or wait for new version?
« on: December 15, 2011, 06:55:08 AM »
im the only one that is stressed out by such question?

should i buy xy or wait for new version? .. blah blah

a billion questions like this.  ::)

i mean what do they expect.. did i know the topic starter, do i know his needs? NO!

best is you wait.. there will always be something new, more shiny and maybe even better.
so the longer you wait the better. wait 4 more years...   ::)

EOS Bodies / Re: how to price 5D2 once 5D3 is out???

new 5D MK2 costs here (body only) 1599 euros.

how to price 5D2 once 5D3 is out???

with no info about the MK3 (when, how much) i say: lower   ;D

they are from metal, they fit, they are expensiv.
not much to tell otherwise.

the kirks can be attached to the camera strap holder and the BG to minimize vibration (but i don´t think that will have a great effect) at least i did not notice it.
i ended up buying a Fittest L-bracket for 130 euros.
