Pardon me : auto iso with flash?
Didnt even know about that!
Living is learning!

And yes: HSS has less reach/consumes more power.
Could be the reason for the dark second and third frame.

Hello from Austria!

Canon General / Re: Why Wedding Photographers’ Prices are “Wack”?
« on: December 09, 2013, 02:35:45 PM »
Wedding pictures is nothing you need like a hospital or a flat/house.
So take the price or leave it.
It has a reason why good wedding fotographers cost that money.

My 2€- cents.

I use my 24-70II most of the time.
Expensive- but worth it.
I like it.
My 35/1,4L I love to use.

Why? I dont know.

BTW: in german they are called "fixed- focal".
Interesting the english name "prime". Like "number one" or "the best".

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: Get a new camera every 150,000 pictures?

If you like it- keep it.
150.000 (I think entry-level last only 100.000) actuations the shutter should work.
Can be much more or less.
If you take some research in the net you find a page where user write in their number of actuations and if its still alive.

I really didnt understand if you want to have a RX100 or not.
So if yes: as the Mk2 of it is the actual model, the Mk1 is available for ~ €400, must be around $400, 500.
I don't buy the new one because I like it smaller and lighter then the Mk2, SO:
why not the RX100?

It is my favorite pocketable. Ratio Size/IQ unbeatable .
This said after 13400 actuations.

Highly recommended.

I print myself, and I am glad to have the 3800.
Yes, around €1200 buying it, but then you have the lovely 80ml ink cartridges.

I love to print myself, because of my history having a darkroom in the past century for decades and the control of every step.
And: the 3800/3880 are able to go down to 13x18cm (5x7inches) for my album.
Cleaning cycles: a necessary PITA, or you have clogging.

Have fun with your new optic.
One day, after saving a bit (lets say- two years) I buy a 300/2,8 too.
Till then: only small items, like the fourth 600RT....

I needed it, really! The first three are incomplete without it!

If you can afford it, go for the IS- version.
You will have a lot higher percentage of keepers.
Ahhh! The  sweet pain of choice.

What a nice experience......

I fear the day when I change my system and have to migrate my stuff (CS6 only by now).
So what: so I keep my hardware longer!!!

I hope you got everything going again!

In ten years I hope I still have the passion like today.

New tools?
Yes please! Whatever it may be.

(the radio triggered flashes from Canon where a surprise and very welcome- something like that I hope!)

EOS Bodies / Re: "Two New FF Bodies in 2014" - if 5DM4, would you jump in?

My wishlist is not long:
a faster SD- interface or double CF.
and an increase of the buffer size. 6 or 7 with RAW + jpeg is a joke.
combined with the slow SD a real PITA.
