EOS Bodies / Re: Wait for the Canon 5D Mark IV or get the Mark III?

Buy a 5D3 now.

Canon General / Re: Consumer DSLRs "dead in 5 years"

Hm. Whatever will come, it has to work.
Sure more people are now have the possibilities to make pictures, but this also can be the start of an heavier addiction.
And show me a smartphone with the possibilities of off camera flash. Or AF- tracking. Or shallow field of depth.
Or the sharpness of a "real" lens.
Did I forget something.
We all will see.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: 5DMKIII ISO

Depends on your quality demandings.
6400 is usable, 12800 is used once and was surprised, how clean the files have been compared to the ISO.
Check it out for yourself.
Have fun and good luck!

Lenses / Re: Old lenses - really so bad?

In a shop they always try to sell you something.
Your lenses are "usable". ;)P

Lighting / Re: Why was Godox first to think of this?
« on: October 22, 2013, 05:07:51 PM »
Using the LP E6 would be nice, and expensive too.
Ad Godox: I don't like to have another proprietary system.
I'm glad to be able to use my eneloops for many cases, flash and in the grip in my camera too.
Interchangable parts is less trouble and more possibilities.
My 2 cents.

If you find an used 135L, check it.
I got mine for €800 (around $1000), and simply love it.
The 85/1,8 comes very close, much cheaper.
Sweet pain of choice, good luck!

Canon General / Re: Is this rude or just customer apathy?

Good points.
(And its good luck I earn my living not in this business!)
Sometimes its an awful feeling being kind, helpful, flexibel and then that.
The "artsy" - community is even worse.
You got good luck if a model is there at the time.
Photographers are the same, I've been told- don't know.

Pricewatch Deals / Re: Buy the 5D3 now or wait?
« on: October 20, 2013, 02:58:35 PM »
Waiting on a maybe cheaper price: go, get it and have fun with it.
Might get cheaper, might not.
Sure you want it.
Sure you enjoy it.
My 2 cents on this and similar questions.
Pardon me!

Canon General / Re: Is this rude or just customer apathy?

It was rude.
And for the "keep the client"- argument:
I refuse having clients like this.
Being nice and handsome most of the people misunderstand as weakness.

My 2 cents.

Canon General / Re: What's Next for Canon?

Canon in my eyes for the last few years:
brought us some excellent lenses (24-70 and 70-200, both 2,8, both v2.0; the range of the superteles)
the radio triggered flashes: nice!!!

Bodies: don`t know 1DX, like to have one.
5DIII: goodygood, espacially the new AF. (and please: make the SD- slot faster!! UHS was there long before!!)1D4: solid, fast, reliable. Love it.

What I don`t like so much: the cuts and cripples to make a camera fit in "their" segment.
Example: buffersize, the lame AF of the 5DII.

Owning a lot of Canon equipment I have to say: thank you Sony, being such a good competitor!!!
And as we have seen with the new flashes with built in radiotransmitters: lets see, what the old lady C. does!

PowerShot / Re: Limited Edition PowerShot Cameras Coming

Don't like blingblings, but thats just me.
If someone buys them, its ok.

Canon General / Re: You know it is going to be a bad day when...
« on: October 11, 2013, 01:08:13 AM »
When I was up all night because of my work and have to sit in my office the following day.
Then everything is very annoying, because I'm tired.

Cropping is nothing evil.
Even if some of the icons like HCB liked their prints uncropped its sometimes necessary.
Otherwise an angle correction would look worse than before.
Or how do I get the "golden ratio" (1:1,618)?
If it is going to be framed this is something to think before printing.
Yes I crop!
