EOS-M / Re: Adapters + legacy lenses on the EOS M: any advice?
« on: July 23, 2014, 10:23:08 AM »
You seems to have good lenses, so if you look at old film lenses should be something really unique.
I have Canon 40 2.8 pancake and even with adapter is small enough for M.
You can also wait for native 50mm lens for M.

60D is a good camera, here is my try with it and 60mm macro ;)

If we have 70D for base(NO fixed screen):

THE BEST APS-C sensor!
Optimised AF + F8 at all crossed points.
8-10 FPS with large and fast buffer.
Dual SD card slot with latest UHS-3 Support.

Something like EF-S 40-120 2.8
Less than 6D price.

I have Sigma 100-300 F4 which is good with 1.4 extender, for new 100-400 it depends on:
IQ, Price, Weight.

Nice small good lens :)
But I will stay with 11-22 IS

Now I'm in situation where I have good discount on 70D until the end of July. But I'm really curious about 7D II specs and price, I'm not sure if there is a good reason to wait...
I hope we will have some specs until the end of July.

I have used FD 50 1.4 on EOS, but it was with reworked mount from FD to EOS - no optical adapter, no infinity focus problem.

Here are some of my last shots of vultures:

You can check out whole gallery with bigger resolution images here - http://www.nonchoiliev.com/rodopi

P.S. Canon Bulgaria gave us the best that they have for this pics - 1DX, 5D III, 70D; 300 2.8L IS II, 400 2.8L IS II, 500 4.0L IS II, 200-400 4.0L IS, extenders  8)

The better news from this one is that third party lens manufacturers are going to release lenses for M system!
I hope Sigma to join too :)

So we have enough dark zoom lenses - put small primes and interesting zooms on priority.

400$ for 55-200 6.3 kit telephoto zoom?

Are they out of their minds?

Could be a good compact travel telephoto, but I would not pay much for it.

Where are 135 2.8 and 85 2.0 and 50 1.4 for M? Come on Canon, we need some nice primes!

The sensor is not improved much, but the AF is nice, I was on a wildlife test with Canon 1DX, 5D III and 70D - last 2 were with almost the same focus accuracy for vultures in flight :):)

I have 60D from 2011 (after T1i/500D) and it's a good capable camera for the money. I'm wondering - 70D now or wait for 7D II :)

Lenses / Re: Tamron 90 macro or Canon 100 for portraits?
« on: June 09, 2014, 08:48:27 AM »
In the same case I choose Sigma 105 macro OS, it's good for short telephoto, portraits and macro.
Tamron 90 VC still have more CA than Canon 100 macro and Sigma 105 OS, otherwise is good too.

Here is my review of Sigma 105 macro:

And some portrait shots with Canon 60D:
