Nikon D600 got a very positive preview from Imaging-Resource

These specs look so lame they are actually believable especially for an upcoming Canon camera.    Canon is just so good in crippling their entry level cameras...

For me, this is CR2.5

If this spec is true, then Canon achieves something extraordinary in crippling, nobody can beat them

• Why develop a new Sensor when Canon has three different FF-Sensors available?

to add phase detection on the sensor like the 650D and eos-m

• Why a new 11 Point AF and not the 19 Point AF of the 7D?

maybe canon want to keep this precious 19 point AF to another higher model

• Why only 1/4000 when even the 60D offers 1/8000?

because Nikon D600 is 1/4000

• Why only 1/180 when even a 650D offers 1/200 and the 60D offers 1/250?

because 5D3 only has 1/200

• What is an "EOS" Body? One similar to the body of the EOS 650D or one similar to the EOS 1Dx?

I guess new sensor basically means the hybrid cmos sensor.
the Digicame-info also mentioned this:

AF is not even on par with 7D, Canon really know how to cripple

I think it is nearly impossible to compare price of 5DIII and d800. beside the cost of producing the camera, there are many othere causes we don't even know about to bring up cost.
Least but not last, d800 has a newly developed sensor, with AF and meccanical part allready used in d3, d700, d3x, d4, . 5DIII is a completly new camera, with a new sensor, new AF, new body. This may be one of the reason of a higher price for the camera.

5d3 has a new sensor(maybe updated), new body, new af from 1dx, metering from 1100d, shutter life @15,0000

Personally, I'll never buy a camera that lacks AFMA.  Now, I'm not going to buy one, but the D600 does have AFMA.  If Canon omit that from an entry-level FF body (as the omitted it from the 60D, despite having it in the 50D), that will be a serious error, IMO.

I don't think the D600 has AFMA which is what will keep me from buying it. And if Canon does not put that feature in it's rumored 6D, then I won't be buying it either.

It does have AFMF or "Fine tuning" is called by Nikon

can someone please tell me if i am missing something.here my problem.. sony make a full frame small camera great wonderful but they make it a fixed lens whats the point in that?and the price is ridiculous!!! if they made it interchangeable lenses then yeah the price would be justifiable to me this is a big massive FAIL.

The target audience of this camera is quite small according to the specs and price. IMO it's more like a concept than an actual product, it sends a message to Canon&Nikon that you guys are too afraid to try something special but I'm not.
I think the eos-M is an epic fail, it looks like a generation behind others and it's not even on the market yet. It may sell well due to its brand but as a product it's so mediocre to be honest.

Sonyalfarumors.com mentioned a few times that a full frame nex will be announced next year

i agree with the eos -m but this sony rx1 could be amazing if they just made it with interchangeable lenses paying that much and being limited to that focal length is just wrong.I love street photography and it would be good for that but not at that price should be under £1000 uk pounds no more.

Fiji's x100 with its apsc sensor was announced @ 1000 uk pounds, so there's no way a full frame sensor with that zeiss lens should be under 1000 pounds. But I think it should be priced around $2000, $2800 is jut too steep.

Right. Not much wrong with the 5D III as a product. Except ... the price. 3.5k was ludicrous all along. I still cannot see anything that would justify any premium over the Nikon D800 at all. Rather the other way round.

Same with the 6D. If it is lower specced  than the Nikon D600 its gotta be cheaper than the Nikon. If not .. I will not consider it. I may or may not switch to Nikon. But I will definitely not buy underspecced and overpriced Canon bodies.

Can anyone confirm whether the Canon mirrorless EF-M mount is big enough to support a full frame sensor?

Canon EOS-M mount is not large enough for an FF-sensor. It's confirmed.  A search here will guide you to the relevant threads.

I very much doubt that Sony's E-mount is large enough for an FF sensor.

A full frame E-mount camcorder VG900 will be announced tomorrow

Development annoucement ?? The 200-400 was announced in Feb last year and we haven't seen it on the market.
So good luck to all the people who are waiting for this, I hope you can get it before Nikon release their second-gen high mp dslr.

Any updates on whether they will release an update for 430 ex II speedlite?

Once everybody who is annoyed by the lack of a 430ex2 successor finally bought the expensive 600rt to have the future-proof tech - I'm sure the delay is there to get as much revenue as possible, and once the 600rt sales drop a little the 440ex will be there.

Cannot agree more~like someone said in another thread the market team runs Canon
