Third Party Manufacturers / Re: Eye-Fi & 5D3

Here's a shot of a 5D3 with an Eye-Fi card in Direct Connect mode sending pix to my old iPad.

Lightroom is a standalone product.  You can read all about it at www.adobe.com.

Lightroom 4.1 RC is already available from labs.adobe.com and supports the mark 3.

Works fine too.  Tried it this week-end and seem to work fine with mkIII files...

Is Lightroom a stand alone product, or is it an add-on for Adobe Photoshop? What is the difference between the two products?

Thanks,

C

I leave my lens attached.  This reduces the amount of time that the camera innards are exposed to the dusty environment.

I use it when performing macro shots from a tripod to get the absolute sharpest photo possible.

Did you format the cards in-camera per the User Manual instructions?

I don't agree with Jeff's "almost silent" comment.  It's more like "not as loud".  Don't get me wrong, it's a great feature but to call it "Silent" mode is very misleading.

I got an Eye-fi card to use in my to-be-delivered-today 5D Mk3 kit but I couldn't wait to try it out so I put it in my Rebel T1i and used the Direct Connect mode to stream photos directly to the iPad.  I even powered off my wireless router to verify that I can stream directly to iPad regardless of where I am.  It works great!  About 7 seconds to stream a photo.  I was impressed with the product.

Took a quick look at the user manual.  Looks like it has to be connected to a computer to transfer any files to it.

Sweet!  Hope those aren't fakes. ::)

The 5Dmk3 will almost triple the resolution (8MP -> 22 MP), MUCH better low-light performance, faster frame rate, better auto-focus, the list goes on.  You will lose a built-in flash though.

In the states by preference is B&H.

Keep in mind B&H will charge your credit card the full amount when you place the order, not just a temporary authorization as indicated at checkout.  As far as I know, Adorama does not do this.

I ordered 5D3 last week, saw B&H hit my credit card over the weekend for the full amount, but I just checked my account today and the charge is gone.  This confirms that B&H just did a pre-authorization in my case.  What makes you say that they charge your card prior to shipping?

In the USA our taxes are reduced somewhat by having dependents (i.e. children).  The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is the federal tax office that we pay our hard-earned tax money too.

I am severly considering this lens to go along with the 5d3 I pre-ordered.  I'm a little annoyed that it will require purchasing another set of filters to fit the 82mm threads. :(

I pre-ordered from B&H on the 2nd at 5 AM EST.  Today I see a $3500 charge to my debit card.  B&H status still shows backordered.  Can't wait to see the high-ISO capabilities of this camera!   :o
