EOS-M / Re: ebay EOS M adapters?
« on: July 16, 2013, 06:02:57 PM »
I bought the adaptor on Ebay from this seller

Paid 91.00 on a make offer that was accepted.

I  bought and paid for it on 7/8/13 in the evening here in US central time zone.  When I got home from work it was in the mail today already on the 16th.  Great deleivery time from China.

I am confident that it is a 100% Canon product from a kit.  If it is not it is a GREAT copy.  It was well packaged and protected as they stated it would be.  The build looks 100% Canon including the print on the device.  Even the first bag it was in before the bubble wrap looks and feels exactly like the bags that all the items were in on the EOS M that I got a few days ago.  A detail that I am guessing would be overlooked if it was fake.

Have not tried it yet but hope to this weekend.

Here is one shot with the EOS M and the 22mm that I took late last week when I was first playing with it.

No matter how things seemed when I got a package like this I would never keep it.  It MAY work and look OK but who knows a few days, weeks, or months down the road.  If there are issues you will wonder if it had something to do with how it was handled in shiping and even if you are sure it was handling you have lost your one chance to have something done about it.  Even if I had to wait I would get a replacement.

Glad mine from B&H was shipped FedEx!

I bought this deal and was happy when it arrived at the UPS depot..but guess what…
I have no idea how it managed to get sooo damaged in the depot…
And with B&H out of stock..i don't know if i'll be able to get a replacement soon.

That looks like it was underwater! Was it soaked?

I don't know yet. that was a photo sent to me by UPS. They have to deliver it to me.. But i'm also waiting for a reply from B&H on how to proceed with this..if i should accept it or if they can send me a replacement. I'm ok to keep it if the hardware is undamaged but i won't know until they deliver it to me tomorrow

I bought this earlier today with this deal.  Couldn't pass the price. I have a gigapan and use my old Rebal XT and stretch the ditto the limit. Want to use this for a better image on the gigapan. Anyone use one of these for that.

EOS Bodies / Re: Reminder: Canon EOS 70D Launch Tonight

I paid 910.10 for a 50D body in May of 2009 so all things considered if the body only is around 1100 it is not far out of what the 50D was as a new release

Canon General / Re: Is this a fair offer for an on location job?

On of the Mud Runs in the area was advesting on Craigslist for a gig like this a little over a month ago.  To the best that I remember there ad specified close to teh following.

Must have a DSLR and lens   Specifiy in the respose what you have
Must have multiple bateries   Specify in resonse
Must be willing to be at event 8 + hours
Will be located at one location for the day
Event will supply memory cards
Expect to take between 1000 - 2000 photos
Photos are owned by the event
Compensation = $200

Not of interest to me but I am guessing they got plenty of response.

If I get asked about the gear I tell them that I really should be saying this but it is actually the next generation of the Iphone and I am lucky enough to be testing it in the wild!

Pricewatch Deals / Re: Deal: Canon EOS 6D Body for $1624
« on: June 03, 2013, 06:13:53 PM »
Ordered a 6D from them about a month ago when it was only $1599.  Shipped promptly, arrived as new unused in the kit box....  Can't complain about the vendor, and the camera is an excellent 1st Full Frame.  Very happy with the images to come out of the camera so far. (It's already been on a dozen different productions / sets)  Nice to have your lenses "back"....

I ordered one this past Friday (5/31) for $1,624.99 and received a call from someone at GetItDigital today (6/3) asking if I would like to upgrade my purchase to the 6D model that includes GPS and WiFi. I thought that was a bit odd, since this is listed as the USA model, which by default comes with GPS and WiFi. It seemed a bit fishy, the sales person then tried to change the topic a bit by trying to sell me an extended warranty and a few other accessories. I really hope this isn't a scam...

Keep us posted

If you looking for quick and cheep to imulate the old photos you printed off of 35MM point and shoot where only a few were good then don't rule out WalMart for prints.  Upload the JPG and pick them up at the store in an hour or have them mailed / shipped in a few days.  This is how I get photo book type prints to some family members that do not have internet at a rural location.

For anything more than this I use Mpix

Ya add a phone feature to your P&S camera and where does it stop?  Next thing you know they will be adding GPS, a touch screen and wifi or something else crazy.   ;)

Canon General / Re: That's my money you are profiting from Canon!!!

Yur subject line sort of indicates this
Copied here for Referance.
That's my money you are profiting from Canon!!!

to think a multi-national has "your" money is a joke. They wouldn't know if u were dead or alive unless u owned at least 5% of the common. So much for your L list.

More evidence of unintelligent life in the CR space. Did you even bother to read what I wrote in the post?

At the cost of repetition, does Canon not make a profit when you buy Canon products? If you think otherwise, you are the "joke".

Did I say that I have a problem that Canon is making a profit? Did I say that Canon has "my money"??? ::) ::) ::)

Anyhow, what does my L list have to do with it?

EOS Bodies / Re: Sell 60D now or after 70D is shipping?
« on: April 17, 2013, 11:49:37 AM »
Here is my take on this and it assumes that you only have the 60D, I don't think you have stated that.

If you are willing to sell now and wait to replace the camera at some point down the road and be without for an undermined amount of time then you probably do not need to step up at all.  If you are going to go with a 6D then sell now and buy the 6D.  You know the market and what the costs are and if it justifies itself then do it.  If you are going to wait for the 70D then wait, use the heck out of the 60D and make the decision based on the market at the time you can actually have a replacement to use.  If you can go without anything for a few months then a step up is not that important as you are not using the DSLR on a regular bases.

Pelican now has a backpack that is specificly designed for a camera and a laptop.  It is the S130.  ( did a seach on that # here and didn't find anything)

Has anyone seen one in anything other than pictures?  How it is built for ease of access to camara gear?  As far as the build goes otherwise I assume it is stout as all the Pelican stuff I have or have used is.

Considering getting one but have not seen one in real life.  Anyone got any experiance.
