EOS Bodies / Re: Canon EOS 6D Official Specs
« on: September 17, 2012, 12:36:17 AM »
Yea really. I don't get all the 7D and 5D MK II owners who want this badly. That'd be like an upgrade from the 50D to 60D. I actually think going from 7D to MK II isn't an upgrade either. Better low light and more MP really. I own the T2i,a nd am saving for a MK III.
Yes, you are doing the right thing: put 5D MKiii in your dream. It was in my dream and now the dream comes true. It's very very worth it, 5D MKiii.

As far as I remember, people complained 5D MKiii a lot when it was just released, then it becomes a hit.
Now people are complaining the 6D.
Anyone give 5D MKiii a wow? I do because I have one. LOL

EOS Bodies / Re: Nikon user Swapping to Canon with a 5D3

Lenses / Re: Canon EF 24-70 f/2.8L II Pushed Back to October?
« on: August 29, 2012, 06:07:23 PM »
For me, as one who preordered back in February, this news is beyond inexcusable!  Canon's photographic division must be completely inept.  At this point, the ONLY thing keeping me with Canon is the TS-E 17mm.   If Nikon comes out with a comparable lens, I'll switch in a heartbeat.
Do you want a comparison? Nikon D800 was announced prior to Canon 5DMKiii. My brother pre-oderd D800 right the first place, and I did the same with 5DMKiii. It means that I placed oder after him. I got mine on late May, and my brother got his on mid July. It's the fact.

80 million and 70 million of them are at Neuro's house :D
You're right, I guess. That's why I always wait for VON (Voice of Neuro).

EOS Bodies - For Video / Re: Chuck westfall on the sharpness of the 5dm3
« on: August 20, 2012, 01:08:39 PM »
I would be happier if my 5dmkiii didnt have video and, as a result, its price were cheaper bcause actually Ive never shot video. I have no choice but am happy with its sharpness in still (after doing AFMA). LOL!

Lenses / Re: New Wide Angle Zoom Discussion & Opinion

I have 24-70mm and 70-200mm. 14-24mm will be the best choice for me. That's why I dont touch 16-35mm.

However, I think there is some logic to the point about the 5D2 still being a great camera.  The 5D3 didn't fix faults on the 5D2, it created a whole new camera... folk who needed the speed would have moved on from a 5D2 long ago.

I happen to disagree here. As the III vs. II indicates, the 5D3 is only a fix to the 5D2. Same body (still no popup master flash!), pretty much the same sensor capabilities (no fix for comparatively poor  DR at all ISOs) and fixed AF, which was already severely underspec'ed way back in the 5D1 and not improved in the 5D2 (essentially the 20D AF module adapted for FF).
That said,  not much wrong with the 5D 3 except  the price. And Nikon coming out with the D800 at the same time.

BUT then ... the D800 ... is not just a fix to the D700. This truly is a completely new camera.
I have 5diii. My brother has d700 + d800. His PoV: The 2 Nikons not much different except MPs and the prices. I believe him!
Have anyone used Auto ISO in 5diii? I love it! It was in my dream for along time. I use it most of the time now whenever Im in low light without tripod. Try it you will love it.

Software & Accessories / Re: FoCal Pro version 1.5 and the 5D Mark III

I know on that price of 69.95 BP to 108.59 USD then PayPal tacks on another $4 and change.  I wanted to read more about the product and when searching I found the Martin Bailey site and get lucky.

I was on the Martin Bailey site but couldnt find the link or something link to FoCal discount. Can you show me how? Thanks

OMG! Thanks for posting soon enough for me. I want a grip but Canon made is too expensive. Im waiting for Polaroid's version bcause I bought for T1i and 50D and they are very good and fair priced, but there has been no smoke from Polaroid so far. Im considering to buy the Pixel's version, and then this posting comes. Thanks again, and continue waiting for Polaroid's.

Lenses / Re: Question...To UV or not to UV...that IS the question!

B+W all the way.  After spending 2 or 3 grand (or more) on a lens, I just dread thinking about something getting on that beautiful L glass.  I really don't want to ever have to touch that pristine surface.  ;)
Strongly agree! I rather clean up the dirts on filter than touch lens's surface.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: Canon 50D vs 7D
« on: July 15, 2012, 02:45:50 PM »
My story:
_ I bought T1i + 18-55mm IS + 55-250mm IS years ago: wasnt happy with the outcomes.
_ Bought 10-22mm + 50mm f/1.4: better but not much.
_ Bought 50D body: improved but still unsatisfied.
_ Bought 24-70mm f/2.8L and 70-200mm f/2.8L IS: big difference. Totally satisfied.
_ Sold T1i + 18-55 + 55-250; bought 100mm f/2.8 IS macro and Tokina 10-17mm fisheye: wow!
_ Was told by a friend to upgrade to 7D (he had 7D with same lenses almost). I didnt do after comparing the two's outcomes.
_ Just bought 5DMkiii 2 months ago: wow!wow!wow! real upgrade.
My conclusion: 50D is good enough comparing to 7D except 1 f/stop ISO and AF. Invest in excelent glasses. After that, save and be patiently waiting to jump to real upgrade with real issue: money!!!
I still keep 50D with me. Love it.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: 5d mark III srceen protector????
« on: June 05, 2012, 05:53:53 PM »
Go to They have 5dmkiii lcd screen protector made of hard poly-carbonate with UV low reflection coating. It's better than glass or plastic ones.
They dont sell direcly, but tell you where to buy depending on where you are living (including Ebay).
I have them on my T1i, 50D and 5D MKiii; all were bought from Ebay.
They are good ones to protect your investment.

Im very new with digital SRL cameras as well as digital photography. I got a 5dMKiii 15 days ago and spent 10 days just for carefully learning the manual and praticing the camera. There is no problem with me, so I thinhk 99% problems come from the user not the camera itself. My first officially shots with the 5DMKiii were at Golden Gate Bridge's 75th Anniversary event last Sunday.
