EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: Cards for 6D

I have been using these cards and getting them on sale in the $12+/- range.

Pricewatch Deals / Re: Adobe Lightroom 5 $99 Shipped
« on: August 11, 2013, 07:30:46 PM »
Thanks again for another price tip.  You save me a lot of money between this deal and the Google NIK bundle.

damn, just realized that i used loctite on my camera plates. well, i'll probably never need to remove them anyway, but i bet they'll still come undone if needed. oh well. actually, by the time i'm ready to offload my 5d, the plate might be worth more than the camera. funny digital...

In the future... if you use the blue Loctite, this isn't a problem.  :(

EOS Bodies / Re: EOS 7D Mark II Information [CR2]

I like the GPS spec.  There are too many Wi-Fi alternatives available for me to "need" it built into the camera.  GPS, on the other hand, is an expensive camera add-on.  Having it built into the camera seems to be more wallet friendly.

I am guessing it [GPS] can't be shoe horned into an SD card, otherwise Eye-Fi and others would have it available.

Speaking of which, I am trying out the app GPS4CAM until my dream of a GPS in every camera comes true.

Canon General / Re: Canon Camera Sales Down in Q2, Imaging Revenue Up
« on: July 27, 2013, 05:24:09 PM »
It would be interesting to see other companies numbers or a breakdown on camera types overall...  P&S, DSLR, MFT, Mirror-less... etc.

This is some interesting new on two cameras that are years apart in construction.

Didn't the 7D share the same "chip" as the 60D and 350D?  ...or am I confusing the "chip" with the "sensor"?

EOS Bodies / Re: Canon EOS 70D Spec List
« on: June 28, 2013, 01:13:17 AM »
These specs sound nice.  Very similar to the current 7D.  I look forward to seeing the specs for the 7D MkII.
I still prefer GPS over Wi-Fi, but beggars can't be choosers.  Maybe Eye-Fi will come out with a GPS in an SD Card some day.  :)

EOS-M / Re: The New EOS M Firmware in Action

This is about as fast as the SL1 I played with at Sam's Club the other week.

Stunning improvement.

Lenses / Re: The EF 200-400 f/4L IS 1.4x Has Arrived!

I expect this lens to perform flawlessly, and look forward to the images you may post from it.

EOS Bodies / Re: Make yourself happy
« on: May 26, 2013, 12:40:38 PM »
I got play around with the SL-1 at Sam's Club, and I was happy with the speed of the focusing in Live Mode with the new STM kit lens.  I'll bet the 40mm pancake is a blast on this camera...  and dinky.

EOS Bodies / Re: New AF Technology Coming in July? [CR1]
« on: May 26, 2013, 12:38:26 PM »
Does not Canon submit AF patents like they do for the lenses?

If this is even close (like half way) to what the 5DMk3 and the 1DX focus system... just close... it should be a winner.  If I pray and cross my fingers, they might put it in the 7DMk2 as well.  I'm really lusting after a better focusing system than the 60D and the Rebel XS.

PowerShot / Re: A New Large Sensor PowerShot Coming [CR1]

I wonder how this camera will compare against an EOS M with a similar lens configuration?

This would be an interesting Head-to-Head.

EOS Bodies / Re: No 7D Mark II in 2013? [CR2]
« on: May 06, 2013, 10:39:31 AM »
On one hand, it's a disappointment, but on the other, it gives me more time to save up for what could possibly be my last crop sensor camera purchase.  You can see I have high hopes on this one ...LOL

How (or where) do the new ART lens series compare to their EX series?

I like the Sigma lens I own, but the naming nomenclature is getting more and more confusing.

PowerShot Cameras / Re: NAB 2013: Canon USA, All About 4K

With all the 4k televisions on display at CES, these new cameras output should look spectacular.
