EOS Bodies - For Stills / 5D2 Dust :|
« on: November 12, 2012, 10:39:30 AM »
Um. There's this fadish black dot on the bottom right quarter on the picture every time I take one. I cleaned the front of my 24-105 and it was still there. So I changed it to my 50mm, took a picture it was still there.
My dad used his air blower thingy on the mirror and it still didn't work.

Any advice? x-x Thanks

Saw it at my Elementary School. My dad ran back to the house to tell me to get the camera and go there.

Got a cold. Turned this in months later and also get a school award for it. Totally worth it ^-^

100-400 on 40D

My dad bought me the double rail set from Really Right Stuff last year along with the Canon Dual Head flash and also the 65mm MP-E because I raise insects and he wanted to introduce photography into that too.

It was a big investment and it does take a lot of time to use, it doesn't work with really huge bodies and the lens or camera might need that RRS foot because that's how they roll, but it does work amazingly.

I mean, $650, just for the rails. Totally worth the cost, but it was a BIGGG costs  :o

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: Would I benefit from going full frame?
« on: November 07, 2012, 09:12:16 AM »
Hmm. If you're shaky on considering whether or not to change into full frame, you can get maybe some L-lenses, mainly the 2.8s to counter some of that high ISO noise in the meantime and then when you have enough invested into L-lenses, you'll be able to change FF a lot easeir :D

Nothing will ever beat the 24-105's price for entry into the L-lens club.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Alaska: 5D2 or 1D4
« on: November 01, 2012, 09:02:08 AM »
Hi everyone :D

I'm a high school senior right now and my dad got me a 5D2 because I take pictures for a lot of school organizations and I just upgraded from a 40D last year and I might be going to University of Alaska Fairbanks next year. (I'm in California right now, so my parents are talking about me freezing my butt off.)

I remember hearing that the 5D2 isn't as weatherproof as a 1-series, so do you think I should invest in a 1D4 if I actually intend on continuing to take pictures in Alaska? My dad says he'll willingly take my 5D2 and get me a 1D4 instead of him getting his 1Dx since he doesn't have too much time to take pictures anyways.

Thanks in advance!

For those moments in life when a 24-105 is too convenient.

I mean I understand, if they are able to make this lens' picture quality closer to a 24-70 II's without making me have to sell my left kidney, good for them, but there are better things to release now Canon. T_T

I'm the guy :D My friend and I are both in NJROTC at our high school and our teacher took us to volunteer to help as tour guides on the USS Iowa.

Every time my dad sees me turning around my 5D2 to take a picture of myself, he cries a little bit inside. HAHA.

EOS Bodies / EOS-M Body Only?
« on: September 15, 2012, 11:52:07 PM »
Sorry >_< I'm pretty sure in the time that it's been announced somebody has asked this question.

But will Canon sell the M as a body only camera? I don't really need the lenses that it comes with and I'd rather just purchase the M with the EF connector so I can put a 24-70 I on it or my 24-105 to use it with.

Thanks! :D

So in other news, what's the opinion on the Calumet filter they have on? I've never heard of that brand.

Pricewatch Deals / Re: Preorder the Canon EOS M

Eh, when my friends and I were waiting for the official announcement to come out of this camera, we never thought it would look this ugly, it would've been perfectly fine just as a square similar to the J1/V1, but I guess Canon was a bit late to the party.

My dad and I are already pretty much done buying DSLR lenses, and we have a 1Ds3 and a 5D2. We're just looking to get the holy trinity right now ;D And when it came up that this would cost similar to a G1x that we've been looking at, but this one has an adapter for EF lenses (100-400 on a point and shoot :D) we decided to wait. But really we don't need the 22mm, even though it is quite good, and I'd rather they come out with a kit that's only for body.

Anyone else notice that Canon now has this awkwardly large price gap between $250-$700 for their non-DSLRs? o_o Like, it goes straight from S100 to G1x then to EOS M now right? OH and lastly, would it make much sense to save the $150 from getting the Speedlite 90EX and just putting my dad's 600EX-RT on it? x-x Cause if at the end of the day they don't come out with body only, I'd have to spend $800+$200+$150, and at  that point, I'd rather get like a 35mm L or something.

Thanks!

Wanna send it to my house and let me borrow it? ;D REVIEWWSSSS. I need points to convince my dad to get a 1Dx instead of a 5D3. He normally uses a 1Ds3, and he already got me a 5D2 (2 weeks before 5D3 got announced -o-)

Oh, and that 40mm.. is freaking adorable on that camera.
