Depends on what you shoot. If you are shooting street photography 24-105 is a perfect lens.
But for wedding and event 17-55 F/2.8 or 15-85mm will be more suitable.

24-70mm F/2.8 L is a very sharp lens .However,I found most of the time not wide enough for landscape work.

Canon 5DMark III + Canon 24-70mm F/2.8 L for landscape work

What was the aperture set to on this shot? Also was it on a tripod?

Hi Killswitch,

Aperture : F/11
Shuttle : 1/40s
ISO : 100

Yes, it was on tripod

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: Can someone help me with low light settings
« on: October 12, 2012, 02:24:08 AM »
Normally is club environment,my standard setting is shuttle speed 1/80,F/2.8 and ISO 1600.
In group picture I will increase my aperture to F/5.6 and ISO 3200 .These setting works for me most of the time with 5D mark III + Canon 24-70 F/2.8 + 580EXII.

Sometimes,I turn off the flash and bump the iso 12800 if I find interesting ambient light

EOS Bodies / Re: Canon 5D3 vs. Nikon D600

What is the point of comparison here.Canon 5D mark III is design with wedding photographer in mind where a body at half of 1dx price yet able to shoot in decent fast movements and high ISO capability.
In terms of high ISO,focusing tracking, focus point spread area and shooting at high speed(1/8000).Canon 5Dmark III beat Nikon D600.
As an experience photographer,I never had an image under expose more than 2 stop.In fact,I do sometimes over expose by 1 stop if I wanted to extract the shadow details via post.

5dMark III combo with Canon 24-70mm F/2.8 is an awesome lens for wedding day photography and street photography

I agree. Most of my landscape work is with my 14mm. But depending on the scene I may use 24mm. Love the 24-70 for weddings! These shots I preferred 24mm.

Nice shot btw. where is that?

The landscape shot were at Sungai Burong,Penang,Malaysia.

Let's hope 6D has the same iso performance as 5DMark III.Then this camera (6D) will be a good 2nd body complimentary for Canon 5Dmark III

44
I was pocketwizard flex TT5 user and was pissed on the miss fire and over exposure issue with my previous body 60D.After switch to phottix odin,it is a heaven and earth. No more miss fire,no more overexposure issue. It works like a charm.
