Funny how Nikon announces a New body & it's in stores within 2 weeks.

Yes, its totally gone from the D800 page on Nikon, except those few pesky mentions of how its a camera you can still buy, and the "D800 or D800E, which is the right camera for me" section

Amazon Japan lists the 6D won't be available for deliver until December 31, which of course is aka for "pretty much next year". By then the there would be Mark3 deals so good that you'd think twice for paying "slightly less" for such a camera!
We can assume the sensor tech is the same as the Mark3, just that it has some pixels shaven off, if there are some more 2,799 deals to expect, then that's a $700 difference for the 1DX level AF, faster FPS, better video capabilities (probably),
 full metal body, and SD + CF slot.

B&H USA expects the camera to be available on December 10, so hopefully it's sooner than later in December.

Nikon is a lot faster in production..

There are several reviews and NEF files from D600 while we wait to analyze some CR2 files from 6D and it looks like we'll have to wait for a couple of months more!
