Very cool Sanj!

I have posted a couple of these willow tit images on other threads, but this is one where 12 fps came in handy. I wanted the bird in the air, just after it jumps off, with his legs still stretch behind and that first go with the wings.

It builds a nest in the trunk and flies off with the mass it carves out. From the moment I could spot its head in the opening in the trunk, until it was gone on the right side, was 3 frames of head-airborne-tail. With the 5DIII it would have been a tremendous struggle to nail these at that exact time in the air.

Lovely photo. I know it is tough to get these shots. Even with 12fps many times I just get a tail in frame!

Yep. Let me try to find a photo of three of us on ground. If I find it I will post..

And it is not perfect timing. Both the photographer and subject were spraying…. :)

sanj, what a cool thread and thanks for kicking it off with such an awesome photo!  I'm still a new owner and haven't snagged any shots like this yet, but you and the other contributors certainly have me inspired.  Hopefully I'll have something to share in the future...

sanj,
For those of us that will never experience 12 fps, could you, would you please post a few of your 'spray' frames before and after the snake spray you've already posted, show us what we are missing?
