I almost never use my 24-70 on f.2,8. But if they did make the 24-105 with the same hood as the 24-70. I would maybe change because i would then have a bigger zoom range than the 24-70.
Anyway. Here is a shot with the 24-70

Very interesting effect. How did you convert it from an image to this?

It's called HDR and destroys nice images everyday :D:D:D:D

I don't see HDR in the programme I use - Aperture for Mac. It's a Photoshop function?

I ll help you a bit.

I pull some handle. Remove the colours ad put them back in again. Uses many of the things that is in aperture 3

I pull the levers in Aperture 3 adjusts the levels and other common things. But some of the most important thing is to remove color and then adjust the white balance before I put the colors back into the program. In Aperture, so I adjust on with auto levels again. But this is difficult to explain in that I have created a template that I just click on and then the alignment is done in the program. Hope you got a little wiser with this explanation

Here are two shots with the 24-70 from Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham, AL.  The first is at 46mm and the second is at 24mm.  Both shot with a 7D.

Ha, I live in Birmingham and have taken that almost exact same picture with a 7D.

Very nice.

Which pics did you take?  The first or second.  Sloss Furnaces is an industrial photographers dream.  Almost unlimited access to everything!

Did you HDR that?

I used HDR for both of them.  My wife and I were down there over Memorial Day weekend.  It was really hot and bright.  I would like to use a wider lens for that place but I do not have one... L lenses are what I am addicted to and they are expensive!  If you took your pic with the 24-70, then you should post it as well.

I mostly shot with the 70-200mm that day but I'll have to look through my files and see. If it's a 24-70 shot I'll post it.
