Apple's Aperture can now convert the Canon 7D Raw files.

Update Notes:
This update extends RAW image compatibility for Aperture 2, iPhoto ’08 and iPhoto ’09 for the following cameras: Canon EOS-1D Mark IV, Canon EOS 7D, Canon PowerShot G11, Nikon D3S, Nikon D300S, and Nikon D3000.

  • No, technically the digital RAW compatibility update is a Mac OS update, so anything that relies on the Mac system APIs can use the raw converters natively. Not just Aperture but also iPhoto.

  • Can lightroom handle the sraw files from the 50D? I’d love to shoot it when I know I’ll never print big. I just can’t with aperture.

  • I updated my aperture this morning and it shows that after updating compatibility with canon D7 should be OK.
    I restarted my Macbook Pro and i try to import D7 .CR2 files … my disappointment is great .. cause it doesn’t work … Why?

    It seems, that the newly released RAW support for the Canon EOS 7D only supports RAW files in full size – if you use the medium or small size RAW files, it does not work…

  • 2.7 Update for raw files in mac only supports raw files, it does not support MRAW and SRAW and i cant understand why? does anyone knows?
