Canon will announce multiple new products on March 26, 2025. We expect to see the EOS R50 V, PowerShot V1 and a couple of new lenses announced.
We now have USD pricing for the coming products, we’re still waiting to find out what the Euro and GBP pricing will be, but customers there should probably be able to do a pretty accurate conversion.

Canon EOS R50 V
The Canon EOS R50 V will launch at $649 USD body only and $849 when purchased in a kit with the RF-S 14-30mm f/4-6.3 IS STM PZ.
We’re not against plastic mounts, but those are usually saved for the entry-level lenses.
The Canon RF-S 14-30mm f/4-6.3 IS STM PZ will be priced at $329 if purchased on its own.
The new RF-S lens has the 35mm equivalent of the RF 24-50mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM and that lens retails for $299 USD. So we’re hoping that the new RF-S kit lens is a bit faster, or at the very least does come with a built-in Power Zoom feature.

Canon PowerShot V1
As reported a white ago, the PowerShot V1 will launch at $899 USD. We know everything about the new compact already, but you will be able to preorder on March 26 with availability expected in late April.

Canon RF 20mm f/1.4L VCM
The Canon RF 20mm f/1.4L VCM will be the most expensive of the VCM prime lenses with a launch price of $1699 USD.
A lens wider than 24mm with the same f/1.4 aperture is going to cost more most of the time, so we’re not really surprised by this. The RF 24 & 35mm f/1.4L VCM launched at $1499 and RF 50mm f/1.4L VCM hit the market at $1399.
Preorder Options
- Canon PowerShot V1 $899
- Canon EOS R50 V $649/$849
- Canon RF 20mm f/1.4L VCM $1699
- Canon RF-S 14-30mm f/4-6.3 IS STM PZ $329

Now, that\'s a price i would be happy about :)
That's weird.... the "6" disappeared. Anyway, corrected it.
It's good that Canon is (presumably) planning smaller cameras, though the current R50 without the EVF would be pretty close to the M6II already. The problem with that (for me) is lenses, the EF-M series was very small because of the mount. I like the idea of an APS-C RF mount camera as a travel backup, but in practice I didn't really ever take advantage of that in DSLR days and I doubt I'll start now.
For these V-aimed lenses, my money is on them being PZ and having an internal zoom motor.
AFAI can say I am not the "young generation". So I have no expectations in those new products.
I - with some reluctance - took the chance on a German rebate on R50 plus Sigma 18-50 DC DN this week (already over) and went the safe path for my new compact travel kit.
The R50 is okay (apart from the too small grip and the hot shoe), but the Sigma is quite cool. I'll post photos as soon as I'll get significant ones.
The R50 AF is great for such a cheap camera. I'll have to wait until I find out major differences from my R6m2.
Pray for RV going to use stacked CMOS & clog2, and then R7ii going to get the same treatment.
RV can use C70 sensor.
