A friendly reminder
The fine folks at Adorama have reminded Canon Rumors that rebates end April 3, 2010.
Both Adorama and B&H are closed this week, so today is the last day you can order from either store.
Lens Mug
I’m not sure what’s going on with the lens mugs coming from http://canonmugs.com/. My understanding is Canon Canada has already sold their entire run of mugs. However, someone from China is selling them directly.
I’m not sure if this is a scam, or if they’re manufacturing and selling unofficial products. Chinese laws in this area are pretty lax so it’s possible the facility is just going to make more then Canon ordered. The 24-105 mug that is out there isn’t an official Canon product as far as I’m aware. The wrong font used for “EF” on the box is a bit of a giveaway.
The mugs from this seller also appear on ebay. The seller of the 24-105 mugs appears to be giving positive feedback to the 70-200 mug person.
Confused? Me too! I just wanted to pass this information on. I’m still waiting on an official response from Canon Canada.
Workshop Contest.

Regarding the mode dial, I wish he would have used the one from the EOS 7D/5D Mark II.
Scene modes are an eyesore on mode dials.

$100 for a 70-200 mug? $50 for a 24-105? Don’t get me wrong, I W-A-N-T one of each… but for that price I’d expect to get the official Canon-produced mugs. With their own leather lens case.
And a hood to hold an extra shot or two…

Looks like some opportunistic batard bought all the available stock from the original sellers of both lens mugs on eBay and the other site and is trying to resell them all at a huge price-gouging premium to take advantage of the current demand. Jerk. Please no one order from that sneaky site, don’t give your credit card # on a new site that has raised alarm bells on my ZoneAlarm site advisor.
That’s why I won’t be giving out a site I found that has the 24-105 mug for just 30$ and another seller that has a Canon EOS aluminum thermal mug and a Canon black sports bottle. Some greedy ‘tard would just buy it all out and resell it back to us here for triple its original price.

You can get the decal in all sorts of colors including white. And it’s 5.5″ x 5.5″ so it will fit on all sorts of laptops, not just Macs.
