Canon releases firmware v1.0.8.1 for the Cinema EOS C500 Mark II

Canon has released a feature firmware update for the Canon Cinema EOS C500 Mark II.

Firmware Version 1.0.8.1 incorporates the following enhancements:

  1. The following features are enabled when the following lenses are attached: CN-E14-35mm T1.7 L S
    • Displaying metadata, such as the model name and the focal distance of the lens attached.
    • Displaying T number.
    • Support for Peripheral Illumination Correction and Chromatic Lens Aberration Correction.
  2. Support for [Dual Pixel Focus Guide].
    • Enhances Clear Scan resolution.
    • Enables to change WFM size.
    • Enables to change Vector scope gain by touch.
    • Enables to change WFM/Vector scope transparency.
    • Enhances SDI-OUT functions.
  3. Adds the ability to output PsF when in S&F mode. (16:9 only)
  4. Enables Peaking in assistance display.

  1. Nice to see the c500 mkii and my current A CAM getting some love. I’ve installed and shot for a day with the update and no problems so far. Feels robust enough.
