Here are the Full Canon EOS R6 V Specifications

The R50V features the same shutter functionalities as the regular R50, so this camera seems to follow the same concept, featuring all the same shutter functionalities as the regular R6 III.

Looks like it's essentially the same camera as the R6 III, assembled in a different housing, with video-oriented controls, active cooling, EVF removal and a lower price tag. Videographers will love this.

Will this camera have the ability to fire an external flash?
I doubt it will have x-sync pins, if that's what you're asking - similar to the R50V.

The R6III has regular pins in the hotshoe and thus is compatible with older-style EX flashes, thus it seems likely that the R6 V would have them. OTOH, the R50 lacks those pins and thus is only compatible with multifunction shoe EL flashes, so it makes sense that carried over into the R50 V.

So I wouldn't be able to use my godox trigger on it for example? Wasn't aware of the R50/V not having a normal hotshot?

You'd hope that aiming this at hybrid professionals they'd keep a standard hotshoe? Or will this be a classic Canon "Let's make it ALMOST perfect and then just ruin it with this one thing we changed for no reason" scenario?

I'm very curious to learn if the HDMI port blocks the LCD screen when unfolded. That's a unique small touch from the C50, C80, Sony FX3 etc that makes a real difference in real life situations when working with external wireless video TX's or monitors. Fingers crossed.

It's a PITA on Canon mirrorless cameras as the non blocking of the usb-c port was prioritized over the HDMI port

My guess is that you will be able to use a 3rd party trigger on the R6 V, just like you can on the R6III.

The R50 / R50 V (and PowerShot V1) have only the new multifunction shoe and lack the old-style pins. The R100 has only the old-style pins and cannot use the new multifunction shoe flashes/accessories. All the other R-series cameras that launched with a multifunction shoe have the old-style pins as well.

Fingers crossed then!

I'm still using the R so haven't come across these new hotshoes yet. Was about to go for the R6iii but I think this might sway me if it's lighter/smaller.
