I'll give you another interesting butterfly that I met last year, but unfortunately only once... but I think its name in English is quite fitting... lesser purple emperor (Apatura ilia)

That's my personal goal for this year... : )
I'll try to take a picture of his beautiful, purple wings from the other side. I didn't get a chance last time.

Ruby Tailed Wasp. This parasitic wasp is only about 8mm long, laying its eggs in the nests of solitary bees or wasps. The top shot is from me with the R5ii and 100-500mm at 700mm, and the bottom by my wife with the R7 and RF 100-400mm, both at just over a m away.

Yesterday I tried first time RF 100-400 + RF 2x extender together. I think the result looks really good.

Great result, I only use the 100-400 with 1.4 but I have the R7.

With the 2 on FF, great. You don't have the same problem with light on FF as I do on Aps-C.

My lesser purple emperor photo was taken not far from where I live ... but he didn't give me a chance ... just this shot, then I went to that place for about 14 days and nothing, as I wrote... I'll try my luck this season.

The problem with them is that they often sit high in the treetops and are not visible.
