If true, this is the sort of lens which will be an absolute joy to own and use, and it makes me wish I had a use/justification for it. It will be *very* expensive, but I've owned at least one big white for a number of years, and upgraded a couple of times, so I'm kind of inured to it.

Working distance is measured from the front of the lens; focusing distance is measured from the sensor.

Canon also has to take the competition into account, and stacked BSI sensors are becoming more widely used, from the OM-1 to the Z9. I know Canon has a justifiable reputation for not being the first to market with the latest technology, but this is moving into the mainstream.
