I really think Canon are missing out here. In the UK, at the birding reserves I go to regularly, I see so many Sigma and Tamron x-600 lenses on the Canon hobbyists, and only a few Canon 100-400's.

Oh this is interesting! Hopefully they'll make their way into astronomy cameras.

Bad experiences with Sigma lenses?

I can't wait for this lens! These shots look a lot sharper than my 100-400, although I don't think my copy is terribly sharp.
