Upcoming 2024 Canon RF lens recap

Hope so. That would definitely make a difference. 2000€ MSRP, with taxes...I'd imagine 1200 to 1400€ on a good sale.

Upcoming 2024 Canon RF lens recap

Hmm…I’m not sure this is the 50mm f/1.4 we’ve been waiting for. I’d take a 50mm f/1.4 with a 1500€ MSRP, then proceed to buy it on a sale for 1000/1100€. But a $2000 MSRP would translate into 2300~2500€ here in Europe, and probably 1500~1700€ on sale. The thing is, we can get a gray market...

The first SIGMA RF lens arrives in July, more in Q4 of 2024

Sigma always enters new camera mounts with APS-C models, nothing weird there. I’m just slightly concerned that Tamron also announced development specifically for APS-C as well. Perhaps that’s stated in the agreement with Canon

Canon RF 24mm f/1.4L USM and RF 50mm f/1.4L USM coming in Q4 as part of a "hybrid family" of L prime lenses

I honestly don’t mind if it’s not a L lens, as long as the price reflects that. I’d be happy with something like the RF 35mm f/1.8 (but no macro, please, or with a focus limiter switch instead).

Canon RF 24mm f/1.4L USM and RF 50mm f/1.4L USM coming in Q4 as part of a "hybrid family" of L prime lenses

    So…will I finally sell my Sigma 50mm f/1.4 Art? We’ll see… And I’m still waiting for an RF 28mm f/1.8 USM

Canon R5 Back Button Experience and (failure)

I'm not really sure I understood your issue Are you using back button focus or...just setting up focus presets to use by long-pressing the preset button, and then pressing the shutter button to enable autofocus? The camera allows both The way I use my R6 is: autofocus disabled on shutter...

Canon Patent Application: New Composite element for a RF 50mm F1.4

Still "pretty big" — not that I think it's a bad thing, but my Sigma 50mm 1.4 Art is 108mm long, including the mount. I suppose this could have very well corrected optics, maybe L-grade. I doubt we'll see a RF 50mm f/1.4 anytime soon, though...

Canon EOS R5 Mark II Specifications

Well, make sure to preserve the camera you have now, then, because this is what we're going to. I wouldn't expect any high end Canon mirrorless body to have a mechanical shutter in the future.

Report: Canon to launch 4 fast L prime lenses in the first half of 2024

It’s a different look. I don’t like the stretched corners on the 24mm, and the 35 doesn’t feel as useful as the 28, to me, in the sense of including “everything” in the frame. The same way the 40mm is pretty much the middleground of the standard range, the 28mm is the middleground of the wide...

Canon will announce more lenses in 2023 [CR2]

The 300mm f/2.8 has been publicly replaced with the RF 100-300mm f/2.8 Even though I don’t want it, I’m looking forward for the RF 35mm L. You 35mm guys need it

Canon announces the Canon RF 10-20mm f/4L IS STM

Wait a minute, isn’t that cheaper than the EF 11-24mm? That’s very interesting. I’m very curious to see this lens.

Three new stacked sensor cameras coming from Canon [CR2]

Hmm R5 Mark II, R1, and....R7 Mark II? R6 Mark III? By the end of 2024, the R6 Mark II will be two years old, so I think that's a possibility too. About ergonomics...I hope they don't change a thing on the R6/R6 Mark II. To me, these cameras have perfect handling, very similar to that of the...

Sigma will launch 2 RF mount lenses to start [CR1]

Hmm usually Sigma starts new mounts with APS-C lenses, so my guess would be the 16mm f/1.4 DC DN, 30mm f/1.4 DC DN, and 56mm f/1.4 DC DN, like they did with Nikon, and also did with EF-M.

Canon releases firmware v1.8.1 for the EOS R6

    I don't think I have, I haven't experienced freezings since...1.5.2, I think. It's been a long time.

Canon releases firmware v1.8.1 for the EOS R6

Updated right-away, took it this weekend to shoot road rally, shot over 5000 pictures...no issues, apparently.

Canon to announce the EOS R100 and RF 28mm f/2.8 STM

Fast, small, L, on Canon RF? Forget about it:ROFLMAO:

Canon to announce the EOS R100 and RF 28mm f/2.8 STM

Oh it’s not about sharpness, but more the fact that I’m used to higher-grade glass. Not-that-fast autofocus, low resistance to flaring, not-that-atrractive bokeh…I mean, comparing the RF 50mm f/1.8 to a Sigma 50mm 1.4 Art it’s just unfair, they’re on completely different levels. I can’t blame...

Canon to announce the EOS R100 and RF 28mm f/2.8 STM

In the meantime, I checked the japanese website and it states an EW-55 lens hood, which is smaller than that of the 16 and 50mm. Could this, perhaps, be a pancake lens? Oh don’t I feel the same… I currently own the 28mm 1.4 Art and 50mm 1.4 Art, but in the past I also had the 35mm 1.4 Art —...

Canon to announce the EOS R100 and RF 28mm f/2.8 STM

Yeah, a RF lens will allow better stabilisation, since its elements are closer to the sensor. I’ve owned several RF 50 1.8s, but they’re still failing to convince me. However, pairing one of those with a twin 28mm maybe could do the trick, as I would be able to spend more time with the 28. I’m...
