August has been very rainy this year and as a result, mushrooms are popping out of the ground early this year. Here a few I snatched last weekend. All taken with 5DIV, 100L macro, natural light.

The price is equal to a 300 2.8L II + 1.4x. That combo is more versatile and offers excellent IQ. I hope to see some reviews of the new DO vs the 300+1.4x combo.

Although the specs may not appeal to all of us, I think the price point is not bad. This may become a nice 2nd body to my 5D3; the button lay-out appears to be identical, so 5D3 shooters can rely on their muscle memory.

The lens is about the weight and size of the 300 2.8 II, which is recognized as one of the very best (Canon) lenses that combines really well with TC's. Unless it is significantly cheaper than the 300 (which is highly unlikely), my guess is that many people would choose the 300 (+1.4x) combo...
