That is a great deal on the 24-70. IS or not, it smokes the first version of that lens. If there ever is an IS, it will probably cost $2500.

LOL! That is what I paid for this lens on release...I think actually $2399. This makes me sick! :'( LOL.
So an IS version would probably start at $2899, right?

I couldn't resist this lens for that price. I shoot sports for my son's high school, so I can see this being of immediate benefit.

Because of the weak $CAD this is still an expensive proposition. As a matter of fact i paid slightly less than this amount two and half years ago. At that time CAD was almost at par with USD.
