Canon Announcement Delays Possible, Including The Canon EOS R6 Mark III

We are discovering at the moment that we don’t know how to pay the importer of record these tariffs.

Normally any duties etc are known in advance and the supplier quote validity of say 2 weeks is sufficient for the supplier to fix their prices and deliver but if they don’t know the % and when it applies from then by the time they get our order there could be additional costs hitting their (and our) budgets. A real mess with suppliers not actually wanting to quote without a separate blanket order for possible tariffs :-(

Trump is negotiating with Japan because their holdings of US bonds are so significant that they don’t even need to talk about the elephant in the room. If Japan gets concessions then all countries will expect them. If nothing then the financial nuclear lever is always there for them to use

I suppose, Canon is doing that just for me.
Because in the past I said a R6m3 is too early in 2025, and I predicted that one in late 2025 or 2026 the earliest. :ROFLMAO:

Of course not funny for those, that are eagerly waiting for new HW

Agreed. At this stage, I am not looking for new cameras until 2028 and am going to limit myself to 1-2 lens(es) / yr.
My pre-tariff 20/1.4 will hopefully show up in 1.5 weeks. Nothing else in the lineup is currently interesting to me, but if something desirable comes out, I’ll order it.

I hadn’t planned to buy a new camera, but I’m really liking the Powershot V1.

Would be curious to to know why you picked the 20 mm vs. the 24 mm? What is / are your application(s)? I realize that 20 m is about 10 degrees greater than 24 mm.

Timing. I already have the 24/1.4 VCM. 20mm is noticeably wider in my experience, and also means an extra 4 trail-free seconds for stars. I'll probably keep both and see which gets more use. The bigger question for me is do I really need to also keep the RF 24/1.8 STM?
