Tips for filter + lenshood on Zeiss distagon 28mm f/2?

I just received this new Zeiss lens ;D
However, something is pretty weird.

My 58mm b+w xs-pro uv filter and my hoya 58mm cir-pl slim are just a bit too large to allow the lenshood to be attached to the lens :(

Any suggestions / ideas / experiences? :)

Huh. Strange.

I just checked on my lens, and I have no such problem, with my CPL (also a Hoya, HD) or with a (cheap and crappy) UV filter. Both sit nicely flush with the lens front part, not like yours which visibly bulges out. And the hood attaches without problem.

But it's true that there's virtually no space left between the hood and the filter when I slide the hood onto the lens. I guess all it takes is a filter frame just a tiny bit thicker, and you can't fit it anymore.

I guess my only recommendation would be to try other filters, then ...

Is it exactly the same lens that you are talking about? This is the Zeiss Distagon T* ZE 28mm f/2.0.

Yep, the very same.

Weird. Here's some more photos of the lens, the bayonett and the hood. Are they the same as the ones that you have?

The aluminum colored "ring" on the front of the lens is exactly 60mm and my b+w filter is exactly 61mm...

Yes these are the same lens and hood. See pic #1.

I don't have the precise measuring tools (don't actually know how those are called in english ...) but with a quick, imprecise check with a measuring tape, 60mm for the front element looks right.

It's pretty clear that it's all about the filter, and the diameter of the outer filter frame. See my pic #3, my filter is almost perfectly flush with the chromed front part of the lens, whereas yours (in your first picture) bulges out by what looks to be at least half a millimeter. When I fit my hood there's absolutely no play between the hood and the filter frame, so I have no trouble believing that even half a millimeter would prevent mounting the hood.

So if you want a filter that fit, mine is a Hoya HD CIR-PL (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/574283-REG/Hoya_XHD58CRPL_58mm_Circular_Polarizing_HD.html)

I sent an e-mail to Zeiss to ask which filters will fit.

Something tells me Zeiss is going to recommend Zeiss filters ;)
But please let me know if they come up with something more interesting. I had no idea that this issue could exist and I lucked out with my CPL, but the issue might come up again with other filters (or other Zeiss lenses).

There's a good chance that I will also order the Hoya HD 58mm CPL. Is it this filter? http://www.amazon.de/Hoya-Digital-Circular-Polarizing-Screw-/dp/B001GJ33V2

Yes, that's the one.

You're right ;D
Zeiss' response is that they haven't tested other manufacturer's filters. I consider to only use my b&w 82mm polarizer (with a step-up filter) and stick to a UV filter for protection only. Do you haven a UV filter for this lens, and if so, which one is it and does it fit with the hood?

Concerning other Zeiss lenses: this issue is really weird. I have the 18, 21, 25, 55, 85, 100 and 135mm as well and none of these has any filter issues. In my kit, it is only the 2/28 which has it.

I don't have a UV filter that I actually use.
I could only dig out an old, crappy clear filter that I had at the bottom of a drawer (just because that's the only other filter I had at 58mm), the brand is Morris, and it does fit through the hood as well. But like I said I never use it, so I can't recommend it.
