The main companies can do a simple firmware with 6 digit pin code.

I don't need a PIN or PW for my camera. It would just be an unnecessary step to start up my camera.

you can't start up a camera thats been robbed.

Note in the video they mentioned it doesn't have to be a passkey you put on the display... it could just be a sequence/combo of button presses.

I know when you first get a camera, it steers you towards setting the date and time before you do anything else.

Setting the pass code (or deciding not to have one. if you'd rather take the risk) could be another "first time you turn it on" deal.
