Couldn't even see her clearly through the viewfinder. Used the 580 EX to focus. Light is a streetlight about 100 feet outside the window.

Wow that noise looks beautiful compared to the ugly banding you would get on a mk2 at much lower iso!

This right here makes me want to get a 5dmk3.

i have been blown away by the low light focusing on the 5Dmk3
it does slow down considerably but it actually locks on and is accurate

metering and WB improved considerably with Canon's new color sensitive metering sensor which debuted, i think, on the 7D.

When using these cameras I have to remember to leave metering on matrix and no comp for most shots, unlike the older metering systems where the old thumb-rule had to be called on quite frequently.
My 60D's metering is about as good as it gets almost all the time. Can still trick it to mess up but not nearly as easily as the older system like the 40D.
