</strong>A few people have pointed out that the 1Ds Mark III is no longer listed on the Canon Canada web site. It has been moved to the archived products section.</p>
<p>Big news? Not really, but we’re starting to get to announcement time.</p>
<p>The camera is still listed on the Canon USA web site.</p>

It's still listed on the UK Canon site, but a number of major camera retailers appear to not list it or list it as not available.... Hmmmm....

I think it's reasonable to release the 1D/1Ds before 5D3, but I'll be looking forward to 5D3.

I noticed that the 1Ds is currently out of stock with Park Cameras and Calumet uk. Hope that means the mark 4 will soon be here, or maybe it just means nobody wants the mark 3 anymore???

We see Canon sites at various times and places remove cameras and lenses by accident, and then add them back later. This makes it difficult to attribute any meaning to such a event.

Canon Australia still list it on the front page of their camera section, 550D and 1000D are still there too, otherwise there's only one model-per-line.
Let it never be said that Australia gets tech first, or cheap, or even ever sometimes though.

Last time I personally saw a 1Ds3 in a shop or online, it was in Vienna mid-2008, most online shops don't have it in stock, or even in their stock list anymore that i've seen (mostly dutch and australian shops).

I'm cautiously optimistic that this means a 1DsIV announcement is imminent. I've never believed that Canon would release a 5DIII before a 1DsIV, and an Aug/Sept announcement for the 1DsIV will be very welcome...so much so that I will quite likely sell my 5DII in favor of a 1DsIV.
