Hi,

Santa was very very nice to me this year and I'm learning how to use my 1dx II. This is the first pro body I've owned, I've got a 5DIII that is my main body (and a 7D II that I've never really warmed up to).

I know my way around the 5D pretty well, still bumping my way around the 1DX II. Does anyone know of a set of notes that are for people making the jump from the 5D to the 1DX? I'm reading the manual and playing but people like to write up stuff, seems like it might be out there.

I googled (well duckduckgo-ed) and didn't find what I was looking for.

Thanks!

You can have a Look here:

Also, on tdp, brian has some Kind of Short Guide how he likes to set up his Camera. If Memory serves right it should be mentioned somewhere on his 1dx ii Review Page.

Just to clarify: do you have a Mark I or II 1DX? Title says 2, Text says 1.

And congrats to your New Camera :)

Canon Europe has a great autofocus setting guidebook.

I would also suggest going through the manual's instructions for the menu settings.

Aside from the standard menu options, one of the most useful is the ability to customize the Q menu.

If you ever have to send it in for repair/cleaning you can download all your custom settings to a card so that when it comes back set to factory defaults, you just copy your settings off the card.

Those are the things that stuck out for me.
