equivalent in US$: 12,222.39 USD

almost 2x the US price !!!

Well, anyway, it's not my price tag, LOL.

not even the lowest offer:

10,823.77 USD

dealer info concerning the lower price: final price not calculated yet... ::)

I wonder how much they will ask here for the 5D3.
As the rumored 36 MP D800 is expected to be a 4k USD cam...

So, enjoy your shooting with a real cam this weekend !

Some of y'all need to take an international trip to US pick up a camera from a Reputable Dealer. Make sure it's a business that will be around for awhile.

Before getting here arrange with the Dealer that if your camera needs repairs you can ship it to them, and they will ship to Canon and then back to you. You will have to pay shipping to and from them.

Or you can just get an extended warranty in your country.

In short you get a trip, a camera, and still save a few grand.

Can't even preorder it in the US, thanks to the FCC.

Dealers are taking pre-orders in the USA, but the firm price has not been established, so you are really just being added to a list. Call your Adorama rep and ask to be added to the list. Pro Photo in Portland, Oregon is advertising pre-orders. Once again, you must call and likely leave a CC or deposit.

I'm still undecided, its a lot of money for a retired person to cough up.

I'm sure some small dealers are. The risk is small, but Canon is required to have this notice:

*The EOS-1D X has not been authorized as required by the rules of the Federal Communications Commission. These devices are not and may not be offered for sale or lease, or sold or leased, until authorization is obtained.

Is a preorder a sale? B&H and Amazon aren't taking a risk.
