Price point of this thing is intriguing for sure. 2.5k capture is really intriguing for me. This allows for shooting at 2.5k and giving yourself quite a bit of editing room for re-framing in post as well as at least the possibility for fixing things like a bumped tripod or smoothing out a shaky cam scene and then outputting to full 1080P.

That it comes with Resolve as well is what makes it really interesting. As EOSHD said, they are basically giving you the camera for $1500 and the software for $1500. And if you are minimizing FX processing, you can actually do a decent amount of editing in Resolve itself. Tie it in with FCP and you've got a really simple workflow. Same thing with the Digital Bolex, open source format that is easy to tie into existing editing systems.

I do find it amazing that none of the major companies have really tackled this market at that price point. Clearly people on a low-budget are used to dealing with hassles and workarounds, but getting RAW ability is a huge advantage over dealing with compressed footage.
