300 mm F/4 pluss 1.4x or 100-400mm

Ok here is a question i have for you guys
i use to have the 500mm is and the 300mm f/2.8 is but i never use them as much, I sold them and i got other lens for my work,the longest lens i have now is the 70-200 MKII some times for fun shooting i wish to have at list 300mm on my bag for maybe a wildlife shot I had the 300mm F/4 and i was very happy with the lens, but i have see lots of nice pictures with the 100-400 also
I want to know what lens are sharper the 300mm with a 1.4x converter or the 100-400mm

mainly 300mm, occasionally 400mm -> 340 + 1.4x
mainly 400mm, occasionally 300mm -> 456 + 70-200 / 1.4x
equally 300mm and 400mm -> 100-400
why selling 328, if you actually need it? it's an excellent lens.

I have 70-200ii with 2x iii converter ....it works very well at 400.
