500 F4 II Lens Hood

Hello

Very simple question. I'm wondering if any 500 F4 II owners can let me know or point me in the direction of the dimensions for the Lens Hood please? I'm trying to check if my backpack is big enough and the only dimensions I can find online are 146 x 383 which seems to refer to the lens itself. I'm looking to hire the lens for an upcoming trip.

174x178 mm (DxL), according to TDP. Their measured lens size is 170x389 mm (they include front/rear caps which Canon's specs do not).

Many thanks for the quick response. Slightly odd that that Canon only quote bare lens dimensions rather than storage dimensions which is probably more relevant - for transit or secure storage.

That reminds me of when camera weight was quoted without the battery or CF card. ??? Can't do much without a battery and CF card.

Sort of like the "dry weight" that a lot of car companies give you. Hmm, oil, gas, and other fluids might be helpful
