5D mark III and Eos Utility Software

Hello,
I 'm trying to shoot stills with a 5d mark III and the EOS Utility Software with Elinchrome Flashes, but for some reason they do not fire when the camera is connected to the software through my Mac Book Pro.
Any suggestions?

How are the flashes connected? See the cautions for LV shooting on page 189 at the bottom. Some settings (Silent LV shooting)will disable external flashes.
